The movie was engaging, exciting and intelligent. My only bad comment is that it could have had more twists rather than the simple ones at the end. Acting was on point. Was somewhat disappointing in that respect. The worst part was that they dropped the "F" bomb somewhere between 50 and 100 times during the movie. He needs to take a queue from some of your brother’s (Ridley) work and not depend on camera tricks and gimmicky editing. This catastrophe of course is not all Scott’s fault. The screenplay faultered as well. Can you drop a few more f-bombs? If you are going for gritty realism, you missed and hit something closer to over the top stereotypes of what New York’s are supposed to sound like. The story also had HUGE holes and it missed some great opportunities to be truly inventive and unpredictable...which it is not. The acting was phoned in with Denzel being...well, Denzel and Travolta playing the same exact "crazy" bad guy he played in 'Broken Arrow' and 'Face Off'. Everyone else went through the motions with stereotypical character acting from casting 101. This film lacked humor, realism, timing and intelligence, all of which are required for a suspense film of this sort. This Movie will soon be in the $5 bin at W-Mart! Was this review helpful? Denzel Washington was great as usual, if you put his name on the marketing poster I'll probably go see the movie before knowing what its about. Having said that, this movie was boring. Personally I thought it would've been better if they would've made the audience think it was possible that Denzel's character was one the crew robbing the train. They went down that path and then abandoned it. The whole plan of the main bad guy was totally not believable either. I was very disappointed. Was this review helpful? Washington and Travolta. The scenes are powerful, realistic and dramatic. The violence was "just the right amount" to bring it home that this behavior is among us.
