Overall The Shining was an excellent movie though there were some parts that could definetly have been better! I think the actors and directors did an excellent job but they could have done better in the conclusion. It was supposed to be the scary movie of the year and I didn't jump once! I think that if you're looking to freak out some friends then this is a great movie to do so!

This was a fantastic movie! It had a great plot, and I loved the way they carried out the story. I never got bored, and actually wondered what was going to happen next! That rarely happens.

This is an amazing movie the atmosphere and everything grasps you and makes you feel like your the characters the other movie had a bad atmosphere but nice acting Jack Nicholsan was amazing in the first one and Rebecca De Mornay is incredibly hot and sexy but off that it was a awsome and powerful moving movie with a more shocking conclusion its an amazing movie with wonderful acting

I had seen the first version with Jack Nicholson and didn't think that they could improve on that. They did. I believe this time it is because Stephen King himself had a big hand in it. It is long but it doesn't lose your interest. More emphasis is placed on the ghosts that need the energy provided by a young boy that has the gift. The special effects are worth it! Turning the father of the boy from villian to hero leaves you with a very satisfying feeling. I couldn't help being a little choked up at the end. Nice touch is Stephen King appearing as the band conductor. Reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock - he always turned up somewhere in his movies. Scary and tense moments. A fine job.
