It felt so real.
I loved how the cast were not seen as actors in a movie, but as people in an incident.
it was horrific and disturbing, only because the writing and performances were so sincere and credible.
It had a good mix of drama and action and i reccommend this to anyone who is looking for an auspicious movie that actually has substance and talented people responsible for it.

The plot has some holes, mostly dealing with the captain and his wife, the latter of whom is very irritating at times. Guy Pearce as the quiet, reflective brother, and Danny Huston as the oddly charming, psychopathic head of the clan are perfect in their roles. The movie is about the redemption of the former thru the extinction of the latter, with striking scenes of how justice is meted out in various ways on the frontier. A strong film.
