It is actually truer to Dickens than most movies today. Granted, it doesn't follow the original perfectly, but how can you when your actors are frogs and pigs? Mr. Henson did a great job. It is as good a movie for children as any other version of this story, meaning that just because it is acted out by puppets, there is no less gloom than any other version.
