I recomend watching it to all my friends. When I first saw it I said "wow". The real question about this movie is what makes it so good. I think it was everything. The actors such as elija and sean and viggo made the movie quiet pleasureable. they also had an amazing director, and thats only the half of it! I could go on and on why you should watch it, but then i`d pass the 2000 Characters Max in the space so i`ll end it here...
P.S. WATCH THE MOVIE Was this review helpful? It tells the story of
The Dark Lord Sauron who seeks to enslave the free people of the mythical realm of Middle-earth by recovering a mighty ring of power he forged in the fires beneath Mount Doom. After many generations, the ruling ring, cut from Saurons hand by the human hero Isildur, has fallen by chance into the keeping of the hobbit Bilbo Baggins. Guided by the wizard Gandalf McKellen and along with companions of the free races of elves, dwarves, and hobbits, Bilbos heir, Frodo, goes on a quest to destroy the ring before Saurons minions can get it. The film is based on the first volume of J.R.R. Tolkiens classic fantasy trilogy.
There are three movies to this trilogy they are all the same movie just cut up to make three separate movie. Each movie is about 3 hours long maybe longer. And three hours of people using magic and people running around in there bare feet that is not a movie. Three hours is to long for a movie except if it is interesting. Lord of the Rings is a boring, draining movie with not plot or anything. This movie is a slow starter one of the many thing wrong with the movie. I hated that it was so long I could see parts of this movie that were earthier dragged out or parts that meant nothing to this movie.
For some reason in a of these fantasy movie the trees or other plant are alive but they pick up people and through them with there branches I dont get why directors like plants to become a characters in there movie. When the The Lord of the Rings comes out on to DVD there is the platinum edition with four dics and a extra hour added to the movie. Who want to sit in front of the TV and watch a boring movie for four hours
I want to say I could give this movie zero stars I would. .I saw no movie in The Lord of the Rings.
The Lord of the Rings Is boring, annoying and just terrible. One of the worst movie I have ever seen. Was this review helpful? I thought it was wonderful! I saw the movies before I read the books, and I still loved the whole series.
Peter Jackson really knew how to create the perfect chemistry between all of the actors. The actors who played to four hobbits really did become the best of friends, which made it even more believable onscreen. I fell in love with Merry (Dominic Monaghan) and Pippin (Billy Boyd) as soon as they appeared in the movie.
The special and visual effects in this movie are awesome. There's no other word for it. The ways they made certain actors (the ones that played hobbits and dwarves) look shorter than others (the ones playing humans, elves, wizards, etc.) were genius.
Also, the characters (in the whole series) felt real. The story wasn't just revolving around Frodo, which gave the movies a 3D way about them.
The soundtrack to this movie is also very good.
The Fellowship of the Ring is a must-see for everyone!!! Was this review helpful? This film has almost every element of a film that you could want. Drama, thrill, action, special effects, romance, comedy, and adventure. I loved how Peter Jackson chose actors and actresses who weren't to well known and brought them into this film. When you think about it, he couldn't have chosen anyone better for these roles. Everyone just really stayed true to thier character and brought out the best in them. I found that when I read the novels, they were a little hard to understand, seens how it was written such a long time ago. I think what he did was shortened it a bit and just made it easier to understand so that when you go to read the novels, you have an easier understanding of what is going on. This film had amazing special effects, along with the other three. It is really hard to choose which one is my favorite because this is just the beginning and you see how all of this started and then you've got the third one in which it is the end when you really wish it wasn't, so it's really sad when it's all over. Their both equally great. The second one was really good to, especially the 40 minute long battle scene, lol. To wrap this up I would seriously recommend this to ANYBODY, just because of all the elements it has in them and especially for such great directing and for one of the greatest stories of all time and many generations to come. But then I actually watched it, and was so impressed i got the box-set. It is a fantastic story, and for such a long film, you barely notice time ticking away, such is its level of quality. A great cast, superb special effects, great screenplay, acting.... great everything!! Its like a mobile phone, - you don't realise what your missing out on until you actually try it yourslef. I strongly recommend. All ages will love this film (and subsequent ones too of course). Was this review helpful? The amazing tale of J.R.R. Tolkien is finally revisited in Peter Jackson's six year break from the cult horror genre after the mediocre, "The Frighteners". But wait, it doesn't fully recognize J.R.R. Tolkien's vision, it doesn't follow the story of the Hobbits more thoroughly, it uses conventional action heroes of regular size, and it's a long yet simple tale of swords and sorcery. There were alot of things I wanted to talk about concerning the film but since it was too long, I didn't feel the energy to type or have anything to sustain fresh power what was left of my fingers. I can forgive Peter Jackson's incoherent direction, but there were alot of things that were completely unforgivable. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 2 users found this helpful Posted: 7/20/2004A review of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring by siouxsiebob13 'The Fellowship' was the second best movie of the three, in my opinion. The ringwraiths are portrayed perfectly, and they add a constant fear lurking in the corners of your mind. It had a few minor flaws, but not as major as those in the 'Two Towers'. Probably the most tedious of the three, as it doesn't have any major battle scenes in it, but a must-see if you are to see the next two parts. I think that the best acting parts are in the Prancing Pony, with Strider, and during the Uruk-hai attack. The soundtrack is the final element that adds to a near-perfect film. If you see this movie, stay for the credits, because they play two beautiful songs during them. If you see this movie but not the other two, it is much less exciting, and if you see one of the others before this one, they will make little sense. Was this review helpful? There are some really great and memorable scenes that stick with you. Check out Gandalf on Kazad-dum when he gets p.o. at the Balrog! Was this review helpful?
