Well,Disney did it for me!And what a great job they did, too!!It really deseves more than 5 stars in my book. This is a movie that has happy, sad, good, bad times in it,yes, but from what Ive seen in the wild myself,so does nature.Just sit and watch this movie from start to finish, dont pick it apart, etc, just take it in and you will feel the message that its trying to convey.Im 44,and yes,I cry during the movie also, its not a bad thing!Maybe moreso because I have been close to nature, but you too will enjoy this incredible movie.Big Bravos to cast and crew, and all who made this production possible. And finally, yes,a little piece of my heart from my experiences.Mufasa is watching me,so bye for now!Keep up the great work Disney!! P.S. Next time I go back to the Serangetti,it will be permanent!Theres still so much more to take in and learn. Was this review helpful? I guess you would call that insane, but I have good reason. The Lion King is a Disney movie by the unstoppable Elton John and Tim Rice. Its catchy movie and nice message are factors that make this kids movie a hit for all generations. It is no wonder that this went on Broadway. I would recommend this to everyone, not just Lower Schoolers. Was this review helpful? While other films by the studio are brilliant and enchanting, Lion King is not infused with the same spirit of enchantment that we find in the likes of Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin, its predecessors. If you cant be swept up in a giddy childhood state by an A-List animated feature, its a sad day for movies. Was this review helpful? Simba was cool too but I thought that he was the kind of character that seems to hog all the publicity. Was this review helpful? Sign In 3 out of 4 users found this helpful Posted: 12/27/2003A review of The Lion King by SoulofFortKnox What made this movie so amazing? How about the fact that James Earl Jones (King Mufasa) and Madge Sinclair (Queen Sarabi) also played as king and queen of Zamunda in the Eddie Murphy movie "Coming To America"? How about the fact that this movie wasn't supposed to be this successful, basically to buy time for Disney to finish Pocahontas? And how about the fact, with all due respect to Hans Zimmer, Elton John or Tim Rice, that Lebo M's opening chant as well as his African songwriting and direction has made the score one of the most recognizable and spine-tingling soundtracks in movie history. One of the greatest animated movies ever. If you have kids or planning to have any, The Lion King is a great $40 investment. Was this review helpful? Sign In 2 out of 2 users found this helpful Posted: 11/19/2003A review of The Lion King by Babyboy693 Of all the disey movies, Lion king is my favorite one. Its music, animation, and story. From beggining to end, this movie will touch the people who watches it and will leave something that you will never forget. from the begging of the story, it starts with an amazing song and an african chorus, that will kind of give you an idea of what the movie is goiing to be about. "The circle of life" is a wonderful song to start this majestic story. The " I just can't wait to be king" which is one of the story's most colorful parts, "hakuna matata--"no worries"--" i think a song that is known worldwide, to the wonderful acdemy award winning " can you feel the love tonight" makes the Lion King a Disney masterpiece.<br><br> i will recommend this movie to anyone who love animated movies and would like to have a good time.<br><br> One of the all times best animated movies is available for all. If you want to get a copy, you better get it now, because Platinum editions such as the Lion king, are only released for a limited time. Movies like snow white and the seven dwarfs and sleeping beauty, were Disney Platinum Editions, that are now out of print. The Lion King special edition will be out of print in January 31. So if you want to get a copy, you better hurry. Was this review helpful? THE COOL THINGS ABOUT THIS MOVIE IS THAT THEY CAPTURE WHAT ANIMALS ARE REALLY LIKE IN THE JUNGLE. THEY MAKE GREAT SOUND EFFECTS AND GREAT ANIMATION. THEY BUILD AN AWSOME SCENERY. IT SHOWS THAT ANIMALS LIVE IN HARMONY BUT THERE IS SOMEONE WHO IS THE BLACK SHEEP AND IT WOULD MAKE A GREAT RUG(SCAR) Was this review helpful? It was the first movie that made me cry, and at the time i must have been only 5 or 6. I watched this movie again over and over til i could no longer see the picture on the tape, and then proceded to beg my mother to buy a new one and repeat this process. Last year in San Fransisco it was at the IMAX theaters and my boyfriend took me to go see it. Again when Mufassa died i cried just like i did when i was a little child. A movie that can stir those emotions every time you see it, must mean a good movie. Anyone who hasnt seen this movie must go out and buy it on DVD. I dont think i have heard of anyone who hasnt loved this movie. Was this review helpful? Sign In 3 out of 3 users found this helpful Posted: 10/12/2003A review of The Lion King by babykake03 This was by far the best Disney movie ever made!!The way the characters are brought to life so much that you feel their pain and joy.It was so emotional the first time I saw it.One character that stood out was Mufasa played by James Earl Jones. His voice is powerful that when he spoke, you truly felt his words hit you in the heart. When he died, I actually felt like I had lost a piece of myself. The songs were very touching and moving in a way that you could relate to them. It's great for the kids because there's a powerful message about knowing who you are, respecting every being in the circle of life, and about leaving things in the past.
