The best thing of all aboput this movie was that it had Stuart Townsend and Sean Connery. In my opinion, Sean Connery should stick to action and adventure movies, because that has to be is why people love the man. The other characters were good, but the end was disappointing with the way Sean Connerys character died. I honestly thought it wasnt over when it was over, but it looked like the directors had it set up for a sequal. This movie doesnt need a sequel, its golden like it is. If you get bored and dont have any adrenaline to get you outside, then watch this movie, itll give you plenty of adrenaline. When the movie ended, it left you wanting more and thats the good part about it. Id reccomend it to anyone. Was this review helpful? I heard it was great it was horrible. In my own opinion I think it was a great movie. The special effects may be a little to out there for my taste, but the grouping of the great literary works was awesome.
For the record. Cap. Nemo was Indian but in Europe they changed it to suit the public. They made him European. Was this review helpful? I cant believe Allen Moore let them make this garbage. iff you want to see a good comic based movie see Sin City, THe punisher(2004), Hellboy, or the first two batmans and supermans. People who find problems with this film complain about its story, its chemistry between the actors, and its logic. One, the story makes sense after hearing the commentary on the dvd. Plus, the movie was in production before all six issues of the comic were released, which explains why the story conflicted with the comic. Two, the chemistry, or lack there of, is approriate for this film. These people aren't supposed to get along. They alienate each other due to their pasts and flaws. The logic...the logic can be thrown out the window. Nuclear submarines and cars can exist long before they were invented in our world. If one complains of the logic of this film, then they should argue about Spider-Man, The Hulk, and Blade. All those films have logic that would fall flat in reality. Its all in a realm of fantasy where Venice has streets and record players exist. Also, the Hyde make-up is better than the Hulk CGI. I'm sorry ,but while others see the Hulk, I see the Jolly green Giant or Shrek. But, when I see Hyde, I see a savage, gorilla like monster. I can see a human face in the make-up, unlike the Hulk, with its non-physical presence. I recommend this film to anyone who is a bookworm or a person who appreciates fiction that has no regard for real-life logic. Was this review helpful? The effects and actors/actresses!! Kewl!! I enjoyed when all of the League was in Dorian's study room and the battle begins. I know that Mina wasn't allowed outside and that the "knife of the Sea" wasn't realsitic but come on peeps us ur imagination!! just because 1 person says something bad doesn't mean u don't have to see it!! Every review i got from friends and family told me that i was going to not like it and regret spending the money to go see it, but hey, sean is in it! how can you go wrong with that? As i sat through the first part of the movie and i met all the differant characters, I immediately fell in love with the plot. I am a ($@&er for the american novels and seeing all my favorite characters put together to form one kick butt team was amazing to me. i was never bored durring this movie. it kept my attention and i recomend it to anyone taht enjoyes a movie that requires some concentration! This movie had a good premise and the actors were pretty good and the characters were fantastic so I think it would have been alot better if the cast had been allowed to act to their fullest. It came out on DVD and of course my husband rented it...well I was surprised I actually liked it...the actors, special effects, and plot were great!
