What are you talking about? The only Book entitled Lake House is by James Patterson - and its about kids who can fly.... no time warps involved.
What book do you think this movie is based on? Cause there are thousands of women who are looking on the web for it!
Good movie - not a perfect storyline, but nice to see a good, clean romance that relies on the story and the developing relationship - not on sex. Was this review helpful? I have been watching his carrer since he started. Its a beautiful love story.
It keeps pulling you in get you involved. That what a movie is supose to do. It did the job! You hope they find each other, you pull for them as a couple. Its done very well!!! If you dont like love stories or chick flixs, dont watch it. If you do its a wonderful film!!! Was this review helpful? It was a wonderful movie that I plan on purchasing when released on DVD. I felt the emotions that both characters were feeling. I laughed, cried, felt alone just as they did. I was so happy with the way the story ended and it was an unexpected ending. I would wholeheartedly recommend this movie and have to several people, men as well as women. True, there is no way this could happen in real life, but, um, hello! thats why its called a movie, so to the critics improbable statement, i say, dude, chill, its a MOVIE
--At other times, they seem able to communicate with each other by telepathy, or by speaking into the wind in a public park.--
that is a quote from the crictics review...i might be completely wrong, but i highly doubt i am..whenever theyre speaking..its them thinkining what theyre gonna write..its not them communicating telepathically a trained monkey couldve seen the difference there.
And as to the chemistry between Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves, it was there, the critics say it was almost non-existant. However small it mightve been it was there, it was the perfect amount of emotion for this type of movie, more wouldve made it a typical chick flick (and we already discussed this movie is far from typical) and less wouldve made it a drama, not a romantic drama.. For those who have never seen the Korean version of this movie Il Mare, this movie is somewhat of a paraphrase of it. I really want to say it was ripped but I have no idea if there was a movie before Il Mare that was worked off of.
Still worth watching, and Id recommend taking a look at the Korean version. Why? The lead actress is beautiful, hands down. Was this review helpful? I loved so many things about it - I thought the Lake House itself was beautiful - really unamericanised which was nice - and there were so many touching things - the dog making the pawprints, Alex planting the tree, etcetc. I thought Sandra Bullocks performance was especially good. In particular her realisation when in the . Also, I liked it that there was no actual time travel, and the film didnt try to explain why the 2 year separation was happening. If it had I think it would have spoiled the ending which was simple and lovely. This film really kept me thinking after Id walked out the cinema, and once Id got my head round everything I knew it made sense. It really inspired me and its one of tose moments when I wish I could write a story like that. Absolutely worth watching. Was this review helpful? It is a nice love story with a great ending. Im glad someone came up with the whole time gap thing. It kept me on the edge of my seat wondering if those two were ever going to figure out what needed to be done. I advise anyone to go see it if you like romance movies. Was this review helpful? To often we go to the theater and sit thru the SAME story every time. My husband and I both agreeded that this was a brilliant twist on the love stories we all love to lose ourselves in. It added something new that we hadnt seen before-and yes, it was the magic mailbox and time gap part of the love story. The review by Hartl is way too cruel. Too bad some cant be as imaginitive as others. Hartl obviously didnt get anything! I felt the chemistry was there, the acting was great, and I would really like that lake house, with or without the magic mailbox. lol
