But the major premise, storyline and ending were not confusing at all. It was just not that good. I really wanted to love this movie: as someone who is aware that real international bankers play a big role in international politics, the preview fascinated me. But the filmmakers did a poor job of making the movie watchable.
It was really long, even the fight scenes ended up dragging. The movie spent too much time showing the characters talk about what was going on "behind the scenes" and too little time playing it out on screen. I understood WHY Clive Owen kept chasing dead-end after dead-end, but I didn't feel that the majority of the movie needed to be him walking around varying cities looking confused and bedraggled.
And a note on the ending: call me old-fashioned, but did it have to end with the sad reality that whatever he did, the bank would always win? Don't people go to the movies to escape reality? Why bother with this headscratcher. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 2/24/2009A review of The International by elover4 THE MOVIE WAS ON & POPPING!!! IT WAS INTERESTING ALL THE WAY AROUND.. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 2/21/2009A review of The International by togir1 Really enjoyed the plot. Pay attention or lose your place. great action scene.

Naomi Watts gave a sub-par performance, the plot was out there and confusing at times, and the action was confined to that one shootout scene. Having said that, it wasn't a bad movie, but it could've been done better. Was this review helpful? This was a great thrill and fascinating to watch movie. If you couldn't follow the story line, you should see it again. It's worth it. Clive Owens is at the top of his game. The locations were awesome. Just wished they had not shown New York so ugly and Istanbul and all the Europe locations so beautiful. But it is hard to avoid the hate america people in the film world. I guess. Otherwise this is really a 5 star film. Was this review helpful? This one had so many twists and turns you almost get angry at the end that you put down good money to see it. Of course if you want a good shoot-um-up, the movie has that; but, I guarantee you'll be wondering "what the hell is going on". When is Hollywood going to wise up about this. I know I'm not alone. I was just happy when the movie was over! Save you money and watch it one weekend on HBO and take a nap. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 2/13/2009A review of The International by lovemoviesanchorage This movie had some interesting scenery, but wasn't much of a movie. Wait for it to come out on HBO. The acting was decent, but the movie really dragged. The plot unfolded like paint peeling off the wall. The actual ending of the movie occurred while the credits were running down.
I hope they don't make a sequel.... Was this review helpful? The beginning looked promising, but then it all went downhill, sloooooooowly. This movie went on waaaaaay too long. There wasn't really much action and the characters did not endear themselves to me. The ending left you hanging. I am guessing they are planning on making a sequel, but I can assure you I won't be going to see it, free ticket or not. On a positive note, the scenery and cars were beautiful. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-10 of 10 Per Page | ||
