Loved the actors! Made me want to hug my kids close. Was this review helpful? If you submit feedback on this review in the future, we will overwrite your previous feedback. I don't usually cry during sad movies and this one made me cry at the point where the children were re-united. Excellent acting by the kids. Especially by the oldest and the youngest. I give it a four and a half out of five... Was this review helpful? If you submit feedback on this review in the future, we will overwrite your previous feedback. I've seen most of the current Oscar contenders, and this is better than all of them. One of those films you can't help but think about for days after! Was this review helpful? It was a very intense movie that underscores the human spirit to pull together during times of disaster. Are there still "selfish inclined" people? Of course there are, but the majority show that "true love for each other" will move most people to help each other. This families unstopable spirit is a true inspiration that we can only hope we can imitate during a time like this. Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts both need to be nominated for their unbelievable roles. And these children from the fantastic role of the oldest son to even the 2 younger children!! I never listen to critics because more than likely if they hate it, it is a great movie. I would endorse EVERYONE except possibly younger children to see this movie. Again it does have some very intense, graphic scenes. You will come out of this movie with the realization that we need to cherish our family, never stop in what we know is the right thing to do, and be thankful for the "love" that most humans have inside of us. Read Reese Witherspoons letter to Naomi WattsAND Entertainment Weekly-
She writes, "Hi Naomi, I know we don't know each other well. I hope it's ok that I am reaching out to you, because I simply could not contain my enthusiasm about your performance in 'The Impossible' ... I was blown away by the film ... By far, one of the best films I have ever seen in my life. I could not speak for 24 hours after seeing the film. It was more than a movie. It was a meditation on life and family and humanity. It was fortifying. But the life-breath of the film is you."
Don't listen to the Critics, go see it for yourself. Was this review helpful? If you submit feedback on this review in the future, we will overwrite your previous feedback. Sign in | ||
