Im just happy that I paid 3.99 to watch it on Pay-Per-View instead of wasting 20.00 to buy the DVD. I hated it and I hope it never gets an emmy. I cant beleive this is a Harold Ramis movie. He was great in Ghostbusters, but not to direct this. Honestly, why doesnt anyone have John and Billy Bob arrested especialy for this letdown? It just shouldve never been made. The only people that could understand this would be anyone that likes dark comedy, and honestly, I dont. Im sick of complaining about this worthless movie. Next! Was this review helpful? It happened on the night before christmass when Charlie and Vic steal from a mob boss, They though it was over they got the money a ran oooo no that night was filled with Mayhem and surprises that were so unexected. The ice harvest is great it is wonderfully Hilarious a great comedy for the christmass season. The movie is out on DVD you should buy it. It is not a wast of money. Was this review helpful? It also annoyed me that it was supposed to take place in Wichita, Kansas....after not recognizing ANYTHING in the film I decided to stay through the credits to see where it was filmed--I cant remember at this point where it was filmed, Iowa or Wisconsin or something--but nowhere near Wichita, Kansas. And, once again a film designed to make Kansans look like idiots! Yuck! Not even worth renting. Was this review helpful? I laughed so hard in the first half that my face hurt. Cusack, Thornton, and Platt are an excellent combo. I really enjoyed this movie and highly suggest it!!! Was this review helpful? Although filled with many ironic twists and a few laughs, there seemed to be no real point to this film. It was as though the ramblings of a schizophrenic were made into a film. A person looking for a plot will be sorely disappointed. This film might be one for you if you like sick and twisted forms of poetic justice. Come on people, wheres your sense of humor? Sure, Cusack and Thornton have done better flix, but they portrayed these pathetic slimeballs well. All the characters are losers in this story. Some are real degenerates and sleazeballs-just like lowlifes we all know. None are truly likeable. So the mad mix of Christmas Eve,thieving shysters, mobsters, stripper bars, murder, and double crosses set in a drab midwest urban locale in the freezing rain, and offset with slapstick pratfalls, puking drunks, ripped pants, and slip-sliding on the ice just hit me as tremendously funny. I admit this is not for everyone- my wife hated it-but some of you will really enjoy this one. Worth a shot if you have a bizarre sense of humor. Was this review helpful? One of those movies that was purely superficial without any socially redeaming qualities whatsoever. The movie was billed as a dark comedy but there were no funny scenes, only darkness. WITH THIS YET ANOTHER BOMB FOR HIM AGAIN THIS CHRISTMAS. AT LEAST BAD SANTA HAD A FEW GOOD MOMENTS. I CANT SAY THAT FOR THIS MOVIE. IT WAS JUST AWEFUL. VERY DARK, STUPID PLOT, JOHN CUSACK DIDNT SEEM TO KNOW WHAT HE WAS SUPPOSED TO DO....I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!! AND IF BILLY BOB KEEPS MAKING THESE DARK, CREEPY MOVIES, HE IS GOING TO LOSE MANY A FAN. I read the summary of it, saw the comedy description, and watched the trailer. None of these are accurate. My husband and I decided NOT to tell anyone wed seen it. My advice, DONT SEE IT!
