"The Human Voice" (La Voz Humana) is referenced in Pedro Almodóvar's 1987 film "La Ley del Deseo" (Law of Desire). It is the project that creates success for transsexual character Tina, sister of the protagonist, Pablo--a Spanish filmmaker who is in love with one young man, Juan, while being pursued by another, Antonio (played in the film by Antonio Banderas). [Almodóvar's plots tend to be a bit melodramatic.] The cover of this release has a vintage look and, indeed, the film first was broadcast on television in 1966. I wonder why this film is being re-released now. Is this a dvd release only or will it tour movie theaters? Was this review helpful?
