If you have seen the unrated and unedited version of this movie, then guess what? You have seen the best version ever created to this remake. I, for one, LOVED the graphic gore in this movie, especially on the part when Jim was ripped apart by the truck. That scene, alone, made me scared.That one scene is still in my head right now, even though the movie is over, and I am watching the special features to that scene. And the way that scene was created is very scary, even more scary than the actual scene. And so, in conclusion, this movie put a new meaning to the word graphic. Peace. Was this review helpful? Usually its one person that logs in under different nicknames and writes short, spectacular reviews. It is done even with movies that they know are going to do well, but when a movie quality is poor....ahem, Hitcher Remake.....then it becomes even more important to do this to hopefully help save the film considering production cost of movies average between 30 to 60 million dollars. Even Independent films with non-star actors and actresses and low budget SE usually run budgets from 10 million and up. At last check, Hitcher (remake) has earned around 16 million and is closing in theaters soon. By the time its released on DVD, it will probably have at least broke even due to help from review spam. What is with the F word????Posted: 2/11/2007A review of The Hitcher by Julie15762 Well, to all of you sickos who like the F word(you know what I mean, they said it at least 20 times), you might like it. Please parents, do not let your children see this movie. The commercials are the only parts that dont have the F word. Being honest, I did see the movie and I also agree with John. Dont just sit there and think about the old one and how much it is or isnt the same just watch the damn movie. I wouldnt consider The Hitcher a horror movie more of a suspense. The original with C. Thomas Howell in 1986 wasnt worth sitting through, but yet idiots in Hollywood think they can remake a piece of crap with more blood and gore and people will buy it. I have to say that The Hitcher was much better than all the horror movies Ive seen in the past few years. It was not too cheesey and I would say its much more of a thriller than horror. It was interesting to see a killer who actually thought out his plan and didnt just go around hacking teens to bits! Of course, we still have a few of the same old stuff...two good-looking young people, driving across some desert area, old car, seedy motels, that kind of stuff. But overall better than the junk theyve put out lately. Its not going to win any awards, but for a check your brain at the door movie its pretty good. Was this review helpful? And while I did think his performance was good, the movie is so lame and predictable even he cant save it. After so many versions of someones head exploding you get pretty bored with it. The movie has no real tension, only gore. I was hoping to be scared and sadly was just disappointed. Hope Mr. Bean enjoys his millions, I was not impressed and had wished I hadnt wasted my money. Her argument was, it has Sean Bean in it how bad can it be? Sean Bean makes a good psychopathic killer but the supporting cast leaves a lot to be desired. The best or most unexpected part of the movie is over before the opening credits are finished. The story line is easily predictable, the murder scenes are not very good and the director did not even try to make the audience jump, I assume that a whole lot of blood is satisfactory for the producers and director. If you absolutely must see this film wait for it on dvd (should not take long to get to your local movie rental store) and save yourself some money. There is no reason to give this movie 3 stars much less 5, there was not a selection for zero stars or that would have been my choice. Anyone that says this is a 5 star movie has low standards for thriller films. Even the Sean Bean fan that convinced me to go thought this was the worst movie she had seen in a long time. When the first one came out, I saw it and decided never to pick up a hitchhiker. I laughed at the remake. I didnt feel it deserved four or five stars. The original was a real intense psychopathic thriller. The remake was way too predictable. Girls, remember dont say Im going to shoot. Just shoot and get it over with, the bad guys always come back.
