Save your money for Happy Feet and Meet the Robinsons, because you obviously have the maturity of a child. Which reminds me, you said that this father brought his 7 yr old to the movie when he should have known better....well obviously that means he should have known about the r-rated content, and so should have you, so dont complain about a movie you cant handle. I loved the way they ran the parallel worlds of Colin (Matt Damon) and Will (Leonardo Dicaprio), showing the differences in their lives. It was interesting to see how well embraced the actual bad guy was, while the good guy was virtually put through the ringer, with little reward. However, they completely lost me towards the end, leaving me with a vague feeling of unfinished business. No matter that the loose ends were so neatly tied up and those who deserved it, got their come-uppence (for lack of a better word!) It just didnt do the entire preceding story justice to end it as it did.
In any case, the movie is still worth seeing. The acting was nicely done and believable, except for perhaps Jack Nicholson, who seems to think hes so freaking cool (in spite of the fact that he one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel) that he can get away with the acting like the same character he has been for the past, oh, lets say, 5 movies. Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Scorsese Created A Great MasterpiecePosted: 3/5/2007A review of The Departed by Disappointed_Critic Yes, the review title is right, because Martin Scorsese should have won at least twelve or twenty awards for this movie. I seriously enjoyed every moment and scene in this movie. I think the people who nominated this movie for all those awards were right on, because it truely is an awesome movie. I still do not understand why Matt Damon was in it, but at least it was not a disappointment. I truely love Jack Nicholson as a bad guy, because he just has all the right elements to be a crime lord, drug dealer, and mafia king from any of the movies where his name is present. The ending of the movie was completely unexpected and amazing. Speaking of which, by the end of the movie, I was asking, So, who was the bad guy? and movies like this, which keep you guessing, are extremely awesome. I can not wait to own this movie someday. Leonardo, Matt Damon, and Jack Nicholsan, were all oustanding. However, Leonardo, and Jack stood out, from the crowd. If you want too see a movie that you cant fall asleep on, no matter how sleepy or tired you are. Watch this movie. Jack, and Leonardo should have both received oscars for this one. As usual the Academy missed an opportunity too give it too them. I have not written a review for a movie, In a very long time. I am going too buy this movie as soon as possible. Its a keeper! if you like gansta movies with a person that goes under cover. this is def a worth watcing.
A note not as good as deep cover, but good.
it has alot of twist and turns and on the edge of ur seat moments. its very graphic and violent. kinda makes u hate matt demon character. lol
def worth watching renting it or buying. not intended for kids.

Did you actually watch the film? It was well written and acted and to all the morons who say it was solely based on the Japanese movie do your research first it actually loosely based on and real Boston Irish mobster. I have no problem if you watch the both films and you prefer the Japanese version to this one but your review is both ignorant and idiotic grow up!

First it was The Ring, then The Grudge, and now Internal Affairs! Oh yeah, we dont just steal from the Japanese, now we Americans steal from the Chinese! Get some originality that you people preach that all students should have in school and go make a decent movie that doesnt contain any stolen plot. This movie is just a white version for racist people who dont like watching Asian people act out the real and orginal storyline. So if you are rascist, this movie is just for you.
