This one was an awesome way to conclude the series. Most of you thought that the long run time was one of its weaknesses, but I believe it was one of its strenghths, because it allowed for more satisfactory character development and story buildup.

I have to say that this is the best movie in the series yet. There are several "I did not see that coming" moments that made it great and the plot kept the flowing very well. Batman is still the best of the superheroes in my view.

I would like to offer my sympathies to all those affected by the senseless tragedy at the Colorado premiere. The Review: I read through a number of reviews by other movie goers before writing my own and was surprised by the negative responses. I have always liked movies with heart, substance and texture, which is one reason I really enjoyed The Dark Knight Rises and the whole trilogy for that matter. I like the fact that it was about the characters, about people and the suffering they they've endured which brings them to what they are facing now in the current film and how society's unrest which can lead to madness also becomes the motivating force behind heroism and self-sacrifice. The Dark Knight trilogy has explored this concept with an acute vision culminating in Rises with the realization that anyone can be Batman, anyone can be a hero. Rises in my opinion is a great movie I liked seeing Bruce Wayne struggling to make peace with the alter ego he created and ultimately having to resurrect him and then finally destroy him to save himself after first saving his city. All too often movies today tend focus more on action than story, but in the case of the Batman trilogy and Rises in particular Nolan, Bale and company have found the perfect balance. I love it and can’t wait to get it on Blue-Ray.

It's not quite on par with the last Dark Knight, but how could it be? That being said, it's still an extremely well-made, entertaining movie. There are a few story arcs from the last several movies that come together in Rises that I appreciated seeing. Tom Hardy is superb, but there's only so much the man can do with half his face covered. Dude was seriously in shape - makes me want to hit the gym and I'm a chick. We can quibble about small things but Christopher Nolan doesn't make a bad movie. A definite must-see in the theater.

I'm a big fan of movies. As an animator I do not like to criticize any movie production. I understand all the hard work that goes into making a movie. BUT! Christopher Nolan really disappointed me with "The Dark Knight Rises". I didn't expect it to beat "The Dark Knight"..but for a 3 hour movie it didn't get exciting at all. Sometimes you have to wonder what the producers are thinking while they are viewing these movies before the film is released. I should have waited for it to be available on NetFlix. I really didn't need to spend the $20.00 for 2 tickets and a very over priced beverage.

Way too long of a movie. If they would have cut the run time in half it would have been a better movie.

Why take that long? Less talk & more action. My prayers to the people who got shooting in Aurora, Colorado. A sad day! I hope some good news come out of this.

First...My heart and prayers go to the victims of the Aurora Theater shootings. Never should anyone go through such horror and pain. God be with you all! I personally think the title of the dark knight rises is mis leading, it should not be called this for if any thing the dark knight didn't do much but re train, escape and get his bat butt handed to him time and time again. Cat woman kicked more tail, the other guy only saved the kids..(Sorry no spoilers here.) The servant Alfred sure made good on his promise of "Nevah" re watch the first two to see what I mean. The U.S. government must of forgot how to use E.M.T.s and that dream thing really messes you up if you leave for popcorn. Now for the positive, Nolan is a master movie maker with very few flaws, sound track, cinimatography, epic scenes, the man is a master. The acting was great, but the story lacked for me...sorry I so truly wanted to love this movie, but I simply didn't. The Dark Knight ruined this movie by being so good. This one should of been called "The Dark Knight Falls" But to be fair, I'll give it a second shot on Blu Ray to completely sell me.

How can any movie critic give a high rating to this garbage? After two hours of talk, talk, talk, with uninteresting characters telling how they became uninteresting characters, I left. The "blockbuster" movies this summer have been horrid and this really puts the cap on them. There is more action in "My Dinner With Andre" than this drivil. Any user or critic that writes a favorable review of this insult to the Batman legacy either didn't see the movie or has the IQ of a box of rocks. Save your money, save your time, stay home and watch reruns of "I Love Lucy". This is prime garbage, slow, boring, nonsensical, horrid dialogue. I am becoming fast convinced that movie makers have either forgotten how to make movies, or just don't care, figuring to make their money the first weekend, before the word gets out on how they are ripping everyone off.

Thought the film was a fine ending to the saga - Christain Bale played well the part of an older, haunted hero who is tired of himself. The only problem I had with this film - old news I'm sure - found it a little dificult to understand Bane's speech in some parts - seems like they did some voiceovers for the important because those sounded fairly clear - but could've used a few subtitles - he sounded a little like Charlie Brown's mother sometimes

This movie is good, but not great I think that the Dark knigh with the Jokert is much better , the end of this one with the bad girl silly for me.

When I look back on pictures of me throughout my life it is very hard to find any without a reference of Batman and as long as I can remember I have loved Batman. This is my take on the Newest Big Screen Production of Batman The Dark Knight Rises. I liked this Movie but a movie to me has to be so engaging that it beckons me to watch it over and over again. Batman Begins showed us how Bruce Wayne became Batman, good to know but too much Bruce Wayne and not enough Batman. I now find myself turning the DVD off out of boredom while watching Batman Begins. The Dark Knight is to me is the perfect movie with tlllhe right balance... If Batman is not on screen Heath Ledger’s Joker is thoroughly entertaining so the off screen moments without Batman is perfectly balanced. Us as true fans don’t want to see the suit and tie guy we want to see our Hero. Why did Ang Lee’s portrayal of the Hulk fail so miserably? Too much Bruce Banner and Not enough Hulk smashing everything he could get his hands on! The Dark Knight Rises could be a great movie if we had never known who any of these people were, Batman, Bane, Catwoman, Alfred, Fox Gordon etc but what is happening in this film is that the Hero we want to see is overshadowed by too much Bruce Wayne and not enough Batman. Bane in my opinion did not need to be in this film and this film would have done very well with just Catwoman being both the villain and whatever other interests Batman had or had not for her performance. I for one was very skeptical of Anne Hathaway being cast as the Feline Villain in this movie but she pulled it off by being that Yin and Yang for Batman plus being the only real moments you felt some comic relieve in all of the Chaos this movie brings to our eyes and ears. Not enough brought forth about the Wayne Manor, the Bat Cave just all the sudden back again. Alfred and Fox were both so very well balanced in The Dark Knight but felt to me chaotic and misplaced in The Dark Knight Rises. I am not sure if at ...

Completely about propaganda more than it tried to be a movie. I enjoyed the movie but the overwhelming propaganda was not only disturbing but for me ruined the movie. The Antagonaist was constantly saying " this is for the people" " We do this for the people to restore balance" etc etc and the police got played the government was used to lock the people in etc. The narrative even stated Pull the wealthy and corrupt from their decadent dens and utterly destroy them. It felt more like the entire movie was saying we need to get rid of this "We the people" attitude and let the police and government take care of us.
