Date  Helpful Rating 0 out of 0 users found this helpful  brilliant fiction movePosted: 4/23/2005A review of The Core by Submarine_Ohio I didn't expect much when i read the star in this move. however, i feel the creative imagination is awesome after 10 minutes. it proposes a question: what happen to the dead person and doves? two professor show up but the answer is still hiden. the conversation between professors and secrete agents are quiet funny. then the funny atmosphere was substituted by the tight atmosphere. the ship was built. then the adventure began. the dangourers are one by one, out of expectation. i will say the computer technologies are so good that the visual effort is unbelievable. and, the earth core is the new place in movies. so give me brand-new impression. the human characteristics are all positive in these movies. no bad man, i will say this is an shortage of this movies.
finally, i watched this movies twices with 12 hours. strongly recommend. Was this review helpful? I loved this movie. Hillary Swank is so good at what she does and I loved her role. Perhaps the whole idea of being lost in space or in the core or wherever, has been the plot of many movies, but I was still on the edge waiting to see what would happen, and I didn't get bored at all. It wasn't really bad so I'm glad I waited and rented it. There wasn't really any action and the adventure was sort of boring because you never really saw anything but the inside of the ship. The end was only a little suspenseful and I was sure there was going to be a romance between Aaron Eckhart & Hilary Swank, but there was barely even a friendship. The way all the actors worked together was great! Also, with this type of an actual event taking place, you would understand that some lost of life would happen under such extremely dangerous situations. Sign In 0 out of 1 users found this helpful The CoreWhen i saw this movie on the shelf in a local movie rental store, i thought to myself, "Oh great another journey where no one has gone before. This is going to be just like all the others." But when I brought it home, and viewed it for the first time, I was stunned. This movie was like no other of its kind. It had great special effects and good acting by many if not all participents. Overall I think this is a good movie for people of ages 13 and up. It has a few areas of objectionable language. Other than that, it has great action, and plenty of scenes that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 1 users found this helpful  Save The WorldOkay, well, I enjoyed the acting and the special effects. the story line of the world ending is a good topic because it really captures people's attention. However, one thing bothered and still bothers me about this movie. The story line is the end of the world, which we all know will happen. When that does happen there is NO stopping it. I did not enjoy the fact that the movie is convincing people around the world that as humans we have the power to stop the world from ending. In this circumstance people will only get worse, believeing that when they go to sleep they will indeed wake up the next morning. I don't think it is right or even logical for a movie with such terms is published and I promise you I will argue this point until the day I die. What a wrong and impure moral to be teaching the world...good job, guys, for making the world a "better" place! Was this review helpful? Since there is never a copy of this at the store, I give it 4 stars because so many people are keeping me from seeing it. I love Sci-Fi and and special FX. The plot was interesting and the story was fairly entertaining but it was highly predictable. All of the scenes were vagly familiar and reminded me of Armagedon. You knew exactly what was going to happen through out the whole movie. They tried to achieve the element of surprise in all of their scenes, but obviously failed. Was this review helpful? Of course the story is basic. A superweapon that is malfunctioning that is causing apocalyptic events, so the team must go to the center of the earth, (where it's at), and destroy it to bring the core of the earth back to normal. It is a pure action with no true acting involved. Because of this, I feel this is a one time watch, purely a film for the big screen, for at home it won't be worth viewing.
