Date  Helpful Rating 0 out of 1 users found this helpful  whats important?Posted: 5/20/2007A review of The Celestine Prophecy by young_2g_s though i have not watched this movie (yet), i have read most of redfields books, and just wanted to point out, most times the books and movies are different, thats just how it turns out......but i feel the real question is whats important...the quality of a movie which now days could cost millons and millions and millions, which is one of the reasons that separates top movies from lower budget movies...or the essence behind the movie.....to me the movie wasnt created for entertainment, is has real meaning, now if it was something like scooby doo...it would be bad, but this is fact and one must separate the two...fact fiction......any intelligent individual would know that the cost to make a perfect movie is purposely high to keep anyone from blowing up and instantly makeing a hit......
the book is about purpose and meaning and the essence from within...not about simply stimulating the saratonin within...... Was this review helpful? It is, to quote the people behind me in the theater, a horrible film.
Years ago when the book came out, I had visions of a movie adaptation... I now know unless it could have been done better, it should have been left alone to our own imaginations of what it could be. The acting, directing, editing, sound and special effects are an embarrassment to the storys fans. I am very sorry to say but it made those of us who found inspiration in The Celestine Prophecy look like a bunch of fools content with the poor filmmaking qualities of cheap seventies movies. Had I not seen this, I could still believe it would make a great movie. Now, Im just trying to forget about it.
