But once theyre a mile underground they have a run-in with a nasty new breed of flesh-hungry beast. This movie was just awful horrable no good, it had a great story great actors but i did not like the way they played it out. Dont buy it Dont Rent it Dont see it! Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful After watching the movie i felt like i got robbed. The story lines, the plots are craps. It should be voted the worst movie of the century! There was no details on the underground cave and all the explorers did was trying so hard to get into the cave and eventually trying to get out of it without explored anything. Haha... CRAPS..!!! don waste ur money..!!! Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 3 users found this helpful the begining is quite crappy but more in the movie becomes more suspence in your seats. Well graphed but not fully explained i have a feeling theres a second one. Many blood shed and loud parts. I don't think kids afried of monsters, blood or suspence should not see it. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The characters kept moving from place to place so it never got dull. The story kept popping up with new things to keep the action and scare factors high. The underwater scenes were also fabulously done! Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful I enjoyed this movie. I found it to be not boring and easy to watch. It was fairly scary and I liked it. It isn't an award wining movie but enjoyable. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 2 users found this helpful I can say without hesitation, that this was the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. The storyline, the plot, the tacky phrases all was horrible. This movie was not scary, not suspense, it was just mediocre.
I gave it 1 star because, I didnt have the option to give it 0, or even -20 stars. Was this review helpful? Sign In 7 out of 9 users found this helpful I was very disappointed with the pacing of the story. It seems that there's not much thrill with this supposed-to-be "thriller." The turnout was kinda predictable, which made me wanting for more.
But to be fair enough, the view of the cave is great and the effects and exploration was okay. Maybe I was just expecting too much of suspense. Was this review helpful? Sign In 4 out of 5 users found this helpful When I heard about a movie centered around cave diving, done with professional input, I was sold and was going to see this no matter what. That said, the diving scenes were great, but I was psyched (as a diver myself) for more diving. Those scenes were way too short. Just rushed over as a means to get to the monsters. Leave you brain home if you want to enjoy this movie. It becomes extreme sports underground. Some cave diving, wall climbing, white water riding, cliff diving and oh yeah...monster slaying. The creatures, although explained well enough, were un-defined (blurry, rapid editing) and made little sense except to be something to be afraid of (an arguable point). The camera work made me dizzy with all the shaking about. Pitch Black comes to mind throughout the encounters with the creatures. The best thing I can say about this movie is "It didn't stink but it could have been better". Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful If you liked Pitch Black, you will love this one! Another review I read said that the movie started slowly, but I found it intriguing from the get-go. The suspense and mystery surrounding the creatures is handled superbly. You really can't tell for sure what they look like until late in the game. I also applaud the scarcity of filthy language. It is there but used sparingly. All that being said, it is still too intense (violence) for younger viewers. The creatures are straight from Nightmare City. I will see it again to catch what I may have missed the first time and I will definitely buy the DVD for my collection to place right beside Pitch Black and Predator. Was this review helpful? Sign In 7 out of 9 users found this helpful While not a great movie, The Cave is well worth
the money. Great photography of Transylvania
(Dracula's home turf), and of underground rivers,
lakes, and caverns.
The plot and characterization are minimal - the
dialogue is pretty standard cliched - lucky for us
there's not very much of it. However, most of the
cast are first-rate climbers and divers.
In short, this movie is like a really good documentary with some fun action and good
creature effects. Best seen in a big-screen theater,
where you can really enjoy the visuals, which is what this is about. Was this review helpful? Sign In 4 out of 6 users found this helpful Posted: 8/29/2005A review of The Cave by DJwilImakeyougrade intresting very interesting keep me wondering i like that.* * * * movie

This movie - plain and simple - made no sense! Stuck miles under the sea, thats what this movie is all about. Stuck in a cave and some weird looking swimming flying creatures that we never really got to get a good look at. And to see that the ending implied a sequel??? Oh please, gimme a break! Save the money and send it to Louisiana for hurricane repairs. Was this review helpful? Sign In 4 out of 5 users found this helpful Posted: 8/28/2005A review of The Cave by redhead1029 ..Lies The Cave. I went to see this movie on its opening day and thought it was pretty good. I thought it had a slow start but once the action got going it was good. I don't agree with the Yahoo movie reviews which say this film is rubbish. The effects were good (better than Anacondas the hunt 4 the blood orchid) and I think people are being to harsh on the actors and crew. there was obviosly alot of time and effort put into this movie, the stage sets looked realistic and i believe this movie was written in 1998, before Pitch black or The descent came out. Overall this movie was good and to me better than other 12a flicks such as Signs, the village(both extremely boring) and Anacondas the hunt for the blood orchid(possibly the cheezyest film ive ever seen) If your under 18 looking for and edge-of-your-seat Jumpy end of summer flick, The Cave is definetly for you. I dont think it was a waste of money, but I wont be rushing back to watch it again. If you want to get a few jumps and a little bit of excitement then you probably will like it. If your into a movie for its story then this might not be the best choice. The story is ok, but not really that different then the many movies similiar to this one.. Overall its an average movie. 3 out of 5 I think Was this review helpful? Sign In | ||
