A heartwarmer is a film that makes you ponder about Life; I enjoy this film, where two terminally ill strangers share a most valuable possession,Friendship. They embark on a journey of self-discovery, and learn many things about each other. What Chambers and Cole learn, would take a millions years to understand. I applaud Freeman and Nicholson for their superb Performance here.

i love nicholson and freeman anyway in whatever they do, but when they got together, so different from each other they were, it was hysterical. first i saw it on pay per view, but i am going to order it for myself for christmas from columbia house and try to find someone to watch it with me. it is better to not have to watch it alone. i simply loved it and right after the movie was over i did write my own "bucket list" even though i haven't even begun to fulfill it. it deserves a 10+

Having watched this movie twice I can safely say that it was a good movie with some humor re: coffee beans.. However the movie was very unrealistic when viewed by a person like myself who is terminally ill with cancer. I sure as hell am not able to go on a vacation or race cars or jump out of an airplane. I'm lucky to get out of bed and go and collect my mail downstairs. I'm sure that this movie was viewed differently by people who have no clue what people with cancer are actually capable of doing. Good acting but very unrealistic.

The movie centers on human values. Two gifted men from two diverse paths, both successful in their wants, come together to share their primary values before death. This is an above 40 years old movie to appreciate American culture and its subcultures. If your life flashes before your eyes at death, then brain cancer yields an elongated six-month flashback. Two men clash in a hilarious contradiction in values, only to achieve the same conclusion. On a subliminal level and due to past movies of Nicolson and Freeman, the Devil meets God. And, both unite. Again, only a mature person under 40 would like this lifelong drama.

My husband and I both loved this movie. Realistic? Not really. Thought provoking? Definitely. It's a great movie about dying that makes you feel good. And that's tough to do!

My husband, 11 year old daughter and I saw this movie, and we all got something out of it. My 11 year old even liked the movie considering the content. I agree, this movie was not accurately rated by the critics. I always read user reviews before seeing a movie, and this movie proved the same. Please go see this movie. Yes, it is sad, but it helps us all, no matter our age, to look at our lives differently. The funny parts will wipe away the tears. Somehow everyday problems just don't seem to matter when you look at the whole picture. All the actors and actresses play their roles so wonderfully. I know that I will look at life differently and in a more positive view after seeing this movie.

Freeman and Nicholson carried this script, with more than a little help from Reiner, along with Sean Hayes and Beverly Todd, onto a level where each person in our movie audience could relate. This type of humor brings us back to the old movies of Laurel and Hardy, when you really did not need to connect with the theme but just enjoy the acting. Of course the theme is a downer, but that is the purpose of a bucket list. Get on with life, folks, and realize that it is the joy you put into it and into others' lives that makes it worthwhile. Death is not the central theme of this movie, it is how you face it. Each of these guys came to their shared room from a profoundly different set of principles, but they brought something special to the forced relationship ... Jack brought a contempt for anything that would hamper his control, especially over personal relationships, and Morgan had settled for the road less travelled but straight as an arrow (as evidenced by the bar scene far along in the movie). They each brought a real humanity to their final months of life, and folks left our packed theater saying "everyone should life their lives following a bucket list". Curious how uplifting this movie was, although both characters did not survive the ending ... but that's life ... and death.

This was a very funny and enlightening movie..probably because of the stars (Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson) I laughed and cried. Most older people think about saving for when they can retire after working all of their lives..it should not take a terminal illness to encourage us to live if our health lets us, travel, buy that new car, or take the vacation that we have been dreaming about. The ending was sad but perfect, if I had to say one thing against it was it was too short.

I just got home from seeing this move, good thing I didn't read the professional movie critics. I find user reviews to be much closer to what is similar to my experience. This movie is great! Funny and tear-jerking, it starts a little slow but get SO much better. People applauded and left the theater wiping tears away, that doesn't happen often, in my experience. Also, heard people quoting dialogue from the movie, as I was exiting the theater. All ages and types of people were there. We can all learn something from this movie!

The critics don't know what they are talking about. "The Bucket List" is a sweet, fun, sad reminder that we let everyday life intrude into our dreams all too often. Seizing the moment seems to drop by the wayside as we wind through the routines and dramas of daily living. Freeman and Nicholson are at their best in this film!!! Their characters are believable, as is the story line (ok, so I personally don't know anyone with money like the character Edward had, but still....). The anger at the situation is apparent, as is the desire to do something more with their lives than let the remaining days dwindle into death's grip. Each man has his own personal demons to face as far as the relationships in their lives and those are played out beautifully. The supporting cast is excellent, with each bringing an honesty to the their collective roles. Having worked in hospice, I sat there wishing that more of my patients would have seized the moments remaining and lived out some of their dreams. We took our kids (10 and 13 - the youngest of our collective 7) to this movie today. It was incredible! Both kids understood and are inspired to have their own lists. We are going through something similar in our lives with a friend and my husband (who is in remission) right now. I've had a list for years, just a lot more simple in nature. After seeing this movie, I'm rewriting and my old man is working on writing his own list.

You can keep your depressing 2hour slow death story. Who wants to see two old dudes in hospital gowns when you know both guys will probably be actually wearing them within a year. I fell asleep 2 or 3 times while trying to watch this. Slow, boring, depressing.
