The storyline had its share of drawn out tension, but the end was surprisingly flat for all it built up to. I felt bad that I recommended it to other movie patrons the day I saw it (before I had seen it myself, that is). If you liked the Italian Job, rent it again. Within a few minutes I believed I was back in the '70's, and the acting and action were great.
This is the way good action movies used to be -- with no computer graphics, fast-paced and tightly shot. It was easy to identify with the characters, the score was terrific, and the ending satisfying.
