The plot seemed to barely even be there and the dragged out length of the movie was ridiculous. I could barely stand the first hour of it, let alone the extra 57 minutes. The only scene I found remotely interesting was the end credits. Im sorry, but to all of those who liked it, you must not lead very interesting lives. Was this review helpful? I liked
1) The movie is based on a real story should scar you enough to start with
2) The famaly that moved in house did not know the house is cursed with famaliy who were dead is funny, but the dead girl is still alive with a black stuffed cat in the closet is scary and so is the house
3) A load of flash back with mess up dead people face is also scary
4) The Father who try to rid of sprits in the house, but he freak out and that is silly
5) The run for cover thunderlous low bass, chilling surround sound with voices and the lightning effect with the house really is awesome:)
I did not like
1) The same movie was made three time is old.
2) too much flash back killining mix with some funny parts and bad language in scary movie is not how scary movie should been made. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 4/15/2005A review of The Amityville Horror by Catercow I hope I'm not alone in the world in thinking that this movie was two hours of my life that I want back. The only emotions I felt while watching this film was, at first, optimism that this movie would be as scary as the hype has made it seem. And finally, dread, that the film was almost over and absolutely nothing exciting happened and that I was watching a movie that was a BIG waste of time. The only frightening thing was that the director would believe his audience was so gullible to find swarms of flies and a ridiculous 'la-la-la' suspense soundtrack scary when in fact, there was absolutely nothing else to make the film remotely thrilling.
