The guy used to direct music videos, piloted the horrible Charlie's Angels movie (2nd one), and his TV series, FastLane was a flop too.
He almost ruined this movie too, if it weren't for some solid action scenes. The box office numbers tell the whole story on this one. Congrats McG. You #$@#... Was this review helpful? I definetly will be buying the DVD. The characters act almost mechanical, because that is what the machines have reduced the human race to; survival only. The is no time for beauty of any kind. As a sequal to the previous three films, Terminator Salvation didn't go off tone, and it finally featured the war in the future - something I long wished to see since ages. I actually liked some of the characters in the film, both humans and machines, and the story was a good one. It was well-planned.
So what if it were just a major battle, and not the war itself, that was being won by the end of the film? What count was that John's 2018 prophecy of death (remember T3?) was foiled by an ex-convict turned robot. And even though he wasn't really in the film, I actually liked the CGI dummy of Arnold's robot; it looked almost realistic.
Hence, to me, T4 is one of the most entertaining films of 2009. Was this review helpful? To see John Connor at the beginning of him taking over the resistance, as a 'respected' leader. To see Kyle Reese, before, he became the war harden hero in the original film and see the actual resistance itself. I hope to learn more...about the resistance and Skynet...and the 'new' terminator, Marcus Wright, was kick ass and hopefully they find a way of incorporating him in to the next few films in the franchise...The film had a couple of surprises too! I enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who love Sci-Fi and the Terminator films... Was this review helpful? The never-ending battle between man and robots did not even give me a chance to symphatize with either, nor stirr any emotions of any kind. The scenes were random and all over the place, and absolutely no story at all. No beginning, no ending, just ....oh yes, a perfect setting for this movie- a black hole!
However, I liked the special effects. My last terminator movie I will waste my money on, that's for sure. Surely miss the "Arnold" days! Hasta La Vista , Baby! Was this review helpful? The action is top notch as anybody will concede, but what I disagree with the critics on is many seem to think the movie is shallow. I personally thought the actors brought a lot of depth to the movie, and in the short time they were on the screen I already liked them. I really liked Bale's Connor, he gave off the impression of being quite tortured but still heroic. I could of did without the Batman rasp though. I is true that the movie is rather cliched, but it's hard not to be now and days without getting out there. Great summer fun. Was this review helpful? It just doens't pull you into the story and the plot is not all that great. I was not excited when I left this movie. I don't know what I expected from Terminator Salvatation, but I know I didn't want what it turned out to be.
Both X-Men Wolverine and Star Trek were better movies.
I agree with one of the previous movie gooers? What made this movie cost so much?
the action scenes were not great. Ok. enough for now. I just gave it two stars, 3 at the most, but it's definitely not a 4 or 5 star movie. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 1 users found this helpful Big Blockbuster T4Posted: 5/28/2009A review of Terminator Salvation by ComeOnCritics1 I've talked to more than 15 people about this film and watching the user's comments not only from this website but from a lotta sources i can really tell you that at least 90% of the people think that this movie it's not only the best Terminator movie but entertaining and full loaded action that doesnt even give you some time to blink your eyes, i'm not a terminator fan in fact i bealive that it kinda stinks but this movie right here made me think different, as far as the critics go let me tella ya something, it's not fair to destroy the enthusiam of the fans and people that are interested in watching T4 because it absolutly ridiculous some of the reviews that you guys posted on the web site, you guys sounded more like action killer critics, old fashioned envy movie star wannabes, please be more realistic and think about the fans not your ideology!! This is far and away the BEST summer movie I have seen in 3 years. Bale rocks, the action is intense, the plot thick and inventive and the characters interesting. I will see this at least one more time in the theater. And as for the 2 bad user reviews, if you actually WATCH the film you will find no plot holes in this post judgment day landscape.
