The plot was great, it was interested and it get to the point... Its a good movie that start slow to give you good reason for action. A 5 star movie along with titanic. Was this review helpful? Fast paced heavy action where the bad guys get what they deserve. Yes it puts the Euro scene in a bad light but probably deserved. Yes it includes a pampered daughter but probably reflects many of our American children. Liam Neeson was terrific and does what all of us would like to do in his situation. This is a can't miss movie and aches for more Liam Neeson in more similar roles. Was this review helpful? Welp, only the parts where the father was killin' peeps to find his daughter, who is stupid and doesn't care that her father cares about her unlike her mother, and step-dad. Anyways, I think it's somewhat RIDICULOUS when her father FINALLY finds her and when he does she just cry's a lil' bit and says "you came to me". OBVIOUSLY ANY parent would try and find you but with your luck, your father was a spy so yes, he found you. I feel bad for the man, I mean I know this is a movie, but seriously, this girl is dumb. Moreover, so after he finds her, she has maybe one or two tear drops, "crying her eyes out", well so they get picked up from the airport and here we go again with the fake freaking out and running junk. Her mom is crying because she is a stupid piece of crap and didn't listen to her ex-husband but let her daughter "live her life". I don't think living your life is being stolen in a different country and be held captive and stuff. Anywho, so the step-dad says stupid stuff trying to be nice and such, and the father just takes it. If I was the father, I would go to court, and DEMAND that his daughter should live with HIM because he could take better care of the daughter because a horse can't take care of her all that well. Overall, after he finds his daughter, about 1 minute after that the movie was over. So.... I don't think that was swell. Welp, the movie was good AND bad. See ya! :) Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful THE movie of the yearPosted: 3/23/2009A review of Taken by ChristianKing While the Dark Knight was 2008's action movie blockbuster that was released in the summer, 2009 had the best action movie come early. Taken is far and away one of the best action movies I've ever seen. Not only that, it deals with real subject matter that is prevalent today. Every young woman should be aware of potential dangers out there. This movie is eye-opening and entertaining at the same time.
At first I thought Liam Neeson was a little too old to play the lead character in such a movie, but he turned out to be the right actor to do it. Maggie Grace was very good as well and all other supporting actors set the right tone.
Overall, movies don't get much better than this! Was this review helpful? All three of us were on the end of our seats and enjoyed it thoroughly. Because, as adults, what Liam did was exactly how we all said we would have done or thought. Many films with kidnapping involved, it shows the adults making so many dumb moves and decisions. In this film; it was the total opposite. Liam as an ex-operative, made the decisions we would have done in his position. We were impressed and routing for him through the whole movie. When it is available to purchase on DVD, all three of us made the comment we would own this movie for our library. Liam played a character I have never seen him do and I was very impressed.
