She finds herself becoming a city socialite and is happy with her Park Avenue boyfriend. Everythings going perfectly, until he proposes to her, forcing her to return home to tell her parents and divorce the husband she left. But the trip awakens memories of her past, and she must choose between her new life and her old life.
Reese witherspoon is Charming and great is the movie. It is a romantic-comedy but i think it has more funny moments the it does romantic moments. But it is good. They could not have picked a better actress to play Melanie Carmichael given that Reese Witherspoon was born and raised in the south.
Reese witherspoon and Josh Locas work great together they make you seem they are a real couple. This is a great movie with a great story great acting and a wonderful Movie. Was this review helpful? Even the cover band at the fair in the movie atleast covered it somewhere near the right way.
This movie completely @&*$s. It's an annoyingly stupid movie. Reese Witherspoon is supposed to be this country girl who leaves her hometown to go to the city and returns to divorce her husband so she can marry someone from New York only to discover that she still loves the first husband. I don't remember who and it doesn't matter anyway since the whole thing is as predictable as the day is long. At first Melanie seems to be a little bit smarter than all of the usual southern stereotypes, but you can take the redneck girl out of the country but you can't take the countyr out of the redneck girl. Most of the character in this movie are little than cardboard and they all make Elle Woods seem like a genius.Reese Witherspoon's character dominates the movie just to cash in on the popularity of "Legally Blonde". It's not worth renting and when it comes on cable do yourself a favor and change the channel.
It isn't funny, it's just stupid and insulting to anyone who likes Reese Witherspoon. To anyone who thinks this is romantic, it only demonstrates that first and foremost that Hollywood should give up forever making movies about loveable southerners returning to their roots, secondly it only serves to reinforce why people leave the boondocks in the first place, next it should be outlawed for anyone to make movies titled after classic songs and last but certainly not least that no one should be allowed to cover a Lynyrd Skynyrd song. Parts of the movie I liked was when she had just got back down to Alabama. Reese pulls up wearing these fancey cloths and is driving this really nice car. Then Jake walks out of the house in grundey closes. It gets really good when they start arguing. I could just see my ex Boyfriend calling me a yankee can't say the other word. (He's from Alabama and I'm from Iowa)That whole seen right in there with the cop and arguement is halariose. During the whole movie I couldn't stop laughing. It's good how the actors could match the accents as well as they did. The actors deserve a perfect 10. The movie over all is the best one I've watched in a long time. Was this review helpful?
