Not only that, but it's our first super fight between two super powered opponents in the movies. Everything about this movie is better than the original, the effects, the plot, the ending....everything. Was this review helpful? Clark Accidentally reveals himself by falling into a fire,The part that creeped me out as a kid,is the scene where Superman is in that Chamber thing. Was this review helpful? We get great acting, good special effects (good enough for 1980), and an awesome story line. 1 problem...I think they got some of the comic book writers to write the dialog.
In this chapter of the saga, Superman (Christopher Reeve) accidentaly releases General Zodd (Terrence Stamp, whom you may remember from the beginning of the first movie), a criminal from Krypton, along with his minions, Ursa (Sarah Douglas) and Non (Jack O'Halloran), from their prison in the Phantom Zone. Upon their arrival on Earth, they soon learn they have the same powers as Superman. Soon teaming up with Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman), they begin their invasion of the world.
Meanwhile, Superman's relationship with Lois Lane (Margot Kidder) intensifies in ways that if I told you, I'd spoil the movie. But soon he must make a descision; a normal life with Lois, or remaining the Man of Steel.
There are points in the movie where the lines sound corny, such as crowd reactions, the way Zodd expects everyone to bow before him, and sometimes Lex Luthor's comedy (it's not as good as it is in the first one). But, still, if "Superman: The Movie" got an A+, this one definately get an A. Cherish this sequel, because after this the series goes downhill! Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-4 of 4 Per Page | ||
