On its own as a separate film, I think it stands well enough on its own feet. Its funny, with fleshed-out characterization and colorful presentation. I understand how it mustve been disappointing due to a minimal similarity to the game canon. But when I was a child and possibly one of the biggest Mario fans ever, I was just psyched to see the game represented in a movie at all. A huge part of the fun was seeing how the creators made the games aspects believable in a real-life setting.
I give it five stars because of nostalgia and also because I simply love the stuffing out of it. What more can I say? 8- P Was this review helpful?
