He could make any movie seem good, no matter what the plot, I think. Lots of violence, but, then again, the nature of the movie lends itself to it. Lots of plot twists also, but somewhat predictable, in order to have a movie! Believable up to the very end, and then, for all of his wheelin' and dealin'. it leaves you wondering why anyone would be so stupid, especially as a Captain...a Swiss bank account would have been in order here! Forrest never disappoints me. Keenau is also one of my very favorite stars. The whole cast was awesome, sad but true dirty cops are not my favorite topic. But the story was well executed. Both Forrest and Keenau had strange and devilish personailty which made them even more iteresting & believiable. Well done, Well done Was this review helpful? Something all of us (cops, men, or other) can identify with. Struggling with alcoholism and a system that gives undue edge to the bad guy, Keanu finds himself on the edge of the law. Keeps you entertained & watching the whole time. Lots of twists that we didn't see coming. Would even like to see it again because I'm sure we missed some things. In fact all the actors in this movie are good during their on screen time. The plot is not that complicated at all. This movie comes out ogf the gate full bore and about ten minutes in....you realize that something is very wrong.
I'd love to see what they left on the cutting room floor. This movie could have easily went on for fifteen more minutes. The only gripe i have about the movie is that the prsence of Hugh Laurie was a bit distracting, he has become stereo typed by his "House" characterzation that the last thing the Director should have done was introduce his character in a hospital. I went into the movie expecting one thing and got another. I guess that's my fault, but I'm not giving it a bad review because it didn't live up to my expectations. I'm giving it a bad review because the movie just isn't all that good. In the first half hour of the movie, my first thought was what happened to these guys. They're great actors, but they're sucing all over the place. Bad dialog and one liners and lots of over acting. Then all the twists and turns. The movie just didn't flow well, it was jerky. I don't know how else to explain that. The plot idea is solid but just poorly executed. I found this movie a bit boring. It felt like a poor imatation of Training Day and Departed. I would suggest seeing this movie, if you're bored and feel like getting out of the house and want to see a cop movie with some action and have nothing better to do-meaning as a last resort. I definitly could've waited to see this on tv.

No wooden characters! I saw it with my sis and bro-in-law and we all loved it! And we are 50-ish grandparents! How can these critics slam it? Just because K Reeves is not your lovey-dovey interviewee does not mean he cannot act. The man can carry a film! This film should have won the weekend! If you like action, go see it! Great action without the impossibly long car chases that are so popular now. As usual most of the critics got it wrong and I am glad I followed my policy of going to see the movies they don't like because nine out of ten times I love them. Movies are not intellectual, academic exercises to be studied in a classroom. Anybody who thinks that they are supposed to be factual like documentaries dosen't get it. They are about transporting you into another world for a little while. If they are thought provoking, great. Was this review helpful?
