Given the success of the This Is Spinal Tap, it makes one wonder why this movie was all but ignored over here.
It is infinitely better on all levels - the characters are stronger, move developed, and flawed. Just like the rest of us! The music is also better - Jimmy Nails career and success should have soared. The rest of the cast protray the characters so well, its almost hard to believe that they really arent Strange Fruit.
Ronnies review is dead on - except for the overall rating. What he doesnt mention is that a whos who of musicians and song writers contributed to this film. Almost every track is at once catchy and in sync with both the movie and the band.
