Yes, very. Probably too many F-bombs to be a classic, but this movie made me laugh until I cried. I actually went to see it again the next day. Think Billy Madison squared. This is what happens when you let comedians just be funny. There is even a little sophisticated humor and emotion. Mostly, though, it's just a guilty pleasure with a solid climax. not a total loss. with a buzz and/or the right group, it'd be ok. she and i were almost alone, so no crowd feedback always hurts stuff that's meant to get big reactions. and, not a criticism of this movie alone, but enough with the 3rd grade gross crap. dog sperm, dog crap, cat crap... i mean there's only so many excretions from so many animals you can see a close up of someone eating before you just run out of combinations. and it got not funny the very first time, so EVERY movie since has just been grasping for a shock value i just don't get. thses darn kids today..
i love to love movies, but i wouldn't bother on this one. even she (the farrell fan) said she'd rather have seen tropic thunder again. ditto, times a zillion. my worst slam is that you've the seen best scenes in the ads. They duped the public by throwing a few well known actors into the movie to give it credence that it MIGHT be funny.. for the crude audience who doesn't think anything of "F bombs" as adjectives this was just your kind of movie... but the "step brothers" were more retarded undisciplined than anywhere near funny. walking out after 15 minutes was an easy decision.. Well I laughed my a$$ off pretty much the entire movie. It's R rated for good reason (lots of language & sexual references) but (sadly) no nudity. Will your wife/gfriend like it? Noooo. Is it stupid? Every little random thing that comes from their mouth is said juuuust right so that it's funny even when regularly it wouldn't be humorous at all. They have a great connection together too, they seem to pull the crazyness right out of each other, like a magnet of... sexy!! Though I have to say that I liked Talledega Nights more, this was still pretttty good. "Your voice sounds like a mix between Fergie and Jesus!"
so ya, if you are feeling down in the dumps, lonely and afraid, or just in the mood for some good laughs- then go see Step Brothers. Seriously, go now! Don't wait for that sexy x-girlfriend to take you back, GO! Laugh, love, live on! Reilly always bugged me, maybe because how he looks, but, I liked him in Talladega Nights and Walk Hard. This Movie definitely had some funny parts, but, for the most part, I was very disappointed.
