This isnt a bad movie at all, its pretty good with its special effects and plots, which is the stuff that makes star wars famous. I agree that the love scences are boring but other then that, its a pretty gd film Was this review helpful? Sign In 3 out of 3 users found this helpful Posted: 5/17/2005A review of Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones by GeekLIFEtx19 I have been a "Star Wars" fan since I was three years old when I saw "Return of the Jedi" for the first time on the big screen with my Dad. When these new prequels came out, no one was more excited than me to experiance the story of Anakin Skywalker and how he fell. When I left the theatre after watching "The Phantom Menace" I was asking myself, "why was everyone talking monotone?" "how can a nine year old boy build a podracer?" "whats up with Anakin being a "Jesus Jedi"?"
Aparently George Lucas does not need to have belivible characters. I wonder if he forgot to watch the original episodes, because he added all these elements to the story that are not apart of the original tale like;
Darth Vader Built C-3P0??? I guess with a character that important (sarcasm) you would have to tie him in to every aspect of the film. I just wonder why Darth Vader never told threepio "I am your Builder!"
"The Jesus Jedi" Since when is Anakin supposed to be a Moses or a Messiah? I mean, thats kinda lame considering that we already know that Anakin is not going to bring the "Force" into balance. "But Luke is going to save the day" the diehard fan says. So why do Obi-Wan and Yoda never make referance to "the chosen one prophesy" in the original movies? I cant wait for Revenge of the Sith so Lucas can try to get himself out of this one.
"Why doesnt Obi-Wan recognize Artoo and Threepio as anakin's old droids when he meets them in Episode 4?
Frankly, I think that Lucas has sold out his model ships and rubber suited aliens for flashy CGI FX and bad acting. The scenes where Padme and Anakin are running around, made me feel like I was watching sound of music and the whole cast was about to burst into song. These movies are horrible Was this review helpful? I'll start with was pretty bad. Samuel Jackson acted terribly as Mace Windu. Natalie Portman @&*$ed as Padme. That's it. Now for the good. The movie has a great story, great action, an excellent continuation to Episode 1. We see that Anakin is somewhat impatient with his learning, since he acquires power so quickly. After all, he is the chosen one. It did a great job showing the weakening of the Jedi council due to their arrogant behavior. The discussion with Obi Wan, Yoda and Mace Windu was fantastic!! Yoda clearly states how many Jedi Masters are becoming corrupt. It also shows Anakin's emerging dark side, due to the loss of his mother. Also, the fact that he also choses love over his allegiance to the Jedi code is another key factor in explaining his reasoning for turning to the dark side. I especially loved the dialogue between Palpatine and Anakin. Palpatine knows that Anakin is the chosen one and he feeds his confidence and enourages him. It's pretty clear that Palpatine, or Darth Sidious, wants Anakin to become his apprentice. Anyone that thought this movie @&*$ed obviously doesn't understand it. Better watch the other Star Wars movies so that you can truly fathom the remarkable story being told. Was this review helpful? The chase scene about half an hour into the movie was such a thril ride. The battle scences wern't just brilliant, but amazing. And best of all, they didn't stop and just talk. Episode I was entertaining enough, but you started to get the feeling that George Lucas was selling out. And after watching Episode II, all suspicions have been eradicated. Now I know for a FACT that Lucas is screwing over his fans. If only Lucas didn't spend so much money selling out to special effects, then maybe he could have hired some decent actors. The only good actor in this movie is Ewan McGregor. Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen (or however the hell you spell this acting school dropout's name) couldn't act to save their lives, which is unfortunate since they happen to be the main characters. I give this movie credit for the lightsaber action scenes (Yoda, I'm looking at you), but even they are too few and far between. Again, maybe Lucas would have had some time to include more of what was good about the movie if he didn't waste the entire movie with scenes showing Anakin and Padme running around in a field playing grabass the whole time. In short, this movie would be good if they spent their resources in the right places (better acting and more action scenes that made the Star Wars franchise famous.) I am a HUGE fan of the original trilogy, but the new movies are very disappointing. Hopefully Episode III can restore the series to its former glory. Was this review helpful? Pray for episode three that it won't catch the disease. Was this review helpful? Sign In 3 out of 4 users found this helpful Posted: 12/12/2003A review of Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones by RealDeal3369 I really hate people that whine and complain when they have listen to the actors talk during a movie. (If you have read my other reviews then you understand what I mean.) Episode 2 is a wonderful action film the really moves the plot along towards the climactic confrontation between Anakin and Obi-Wan and the "birth" of Darth Vader. This movie reveals plas for the 1st Death Star, explains how Palpatine gets all of his power, how and why Darth Vader has that mechanical arm the Luke cuts off in Ep. 6 (or the hand at least) and explains how Luke and Leia get here. Chris Lee was the perfect bad guy again, just like he has been for decades. Natalie was wonderful (again) and the thing I want to see more than anything else is what happens to her in Episode 3, or rather, how what happens happens. There was a lot of talking, the big action scene with Jango, the start of the Clone War, the great lightsaber duel(s) and the wedding. I hope people will appreciate the fact that it can't be Tie Fighters and Death Stars all the time. Was this review helpful? Sign In | ||
