Mickey Rourkey, I have never seen him act like that, i mean his acting was just marvellous, the MARV part was the best to me in the movie, very CRUDE! Elijah Wood was also good with some of his kicks. A good movie, thats all!

THIS MOVIE WAS CRAZY I LOVED THE WAY IT LOOKED BUT I NEED MORE THAN JUST EYE CANDY TO ENJOY A FILM. I MEAN THE STORIES NEVER REALLY CAME TOGETHER OR MADE ANY SENSE I WALKED OUT OF THE THEATRE CONFUSED. JESSICA ALBA LOOKES SEXY AND ALL THE ACTORS WERE GOOD BUT THAT BRINGS ME BACK TO MY BELIEF THAT SOME DIRECTORS THINK IF U PUT ENOUGH CELEBRITIES IN A MOVIE YOU DONT NEED TO TRY ON THE OTHER ASPECTS OF THE FILM. COME ON IT LOOKS GOOD BUT SOMEBODY EXPLAIN THE STORY TO ME AND THE POINT OF IT.

The movie was made so well, so many A list actors and directors. I never read a frank miller graphic novel prior to the release. So i bought the special edition with marvs story and it was amazing!!! The brightness and darkness in the movie made it seem like reading the comic!! With all of the camera angles that were exactly to the novel. This movie was made by the most versitile director, Robert Rodriguez....who does most of the work in his movies (directs, writes, etc) and with frank miller and quintin tarintino guest directing. I could talk about this movie for hours and how well it was made. WATCH THIS IF YOU LOVE A DARK ACTION MOVIE!!!!

monumental work of Rodriguez. This is an example of what comic movies should be like. Its so great to see one-sided characters in movies nowadays -- for example, the portrayal of women as prostitutes. Of course, not all women are prostitutes, but for the sake of amplifying the movies intentions and style, it works through and through. for you people who cant take the violence, you just shouldnt watch these movies. But dont go bellyaching about it.. Personally, I didnt think it was so bad since it was in black and white.

I read some reviews where people really slam the movie! They are the spoon fed BRATS who want the high tech effect and if they could not keep up with the storys? Hello did they ever read a comic book? perhap not imagine all they miss out on!!! Im not a MTV robot clone. Im proud to be different and I LOVED the movie! It was exciting and sexy and a look see into the world where everything is black and white! It was raw and all my friends Loved it too! Clive Owen did a perfect job!!! and the girl who played MIHO was fun to watch because of her style so deadly yet so quiet! The only thing I didnt like is when the movie ended! I hope to see more movies like Sin City! Thanks for the excitiment Mr. Miller!!!

i have a difficult time giving movies a perfect 5 out of 5 rating...however, i have to come pretty close with Sin City. call it over-the-top, gruesome, heinous even. the cinematography is absolutely amazing, the acting is superb, and the film does great justice to the original comic. yes, the violence is gratuitous, but this is America...if youre not used to high doses of cinematic gore and sexuality then go back to church and leave entertainment to the rest of us.

Saw Sin City on a Friday night. It wasn't a very packed theater, but the movie itself was a lot of fun. It was very graphic with lots of violence, though it was very stylized. In fact, I don't think there were very many points in the movie were blood was blood colored. They used a black and white style very similar to the original graphic novel, and there were highlights of color. For example, you have a woman standing on a terrace and all the scene is black and white except for her very red dress and her red lipstick. All in all a very nice looking movie. The movie itself was broken into a lot of sub-stories, though they all sort of inter-connected...even if briefly. It is sort of like many issues of the comic brought together in one movie. All in all it was a lot of fun, with lots to see, and even some very funny parts in it.

I could not sit through the whole movie. took out my cousin to see it as a part of a birthday present. Whattttt a waste. The storyline? what storyline!!! THis movie is by far the most grousome and stupid and dumb and rediculous, borderline inhuman. Dont see and i am being serious dont listen to the critics or enyone else. Just ignore this pathetic movie.

Ok, I have to start off by saying that anyone that wrote a bad review of this movie should burn in hell or get killed by Marv or something. You just don't understand it as well if you didn't read the comics, I guess. My movie going experiences were pretty limited before I saw this movie, and it was one of the first movies along with Kill-Bill that I had seen with so much and gore. I didn't find this a deterrent though, in fact it made it more interesting. It was also the only new-age black and white film I've seen. The acting was incredible, with major kudos going out Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, and Clive Owen, who were the best parts of the movie (Marv was by far my favorite part of the movie, especially the scene with Elijah Wood and the electric chair part at the end.) The narrating was the only part of the movie that I found a bit annoying, and that was only during Clive Owen's part, mainly because he tended to state the obvious. All of the and gore and ass were necesarry to capture the full effect of the comics and the life itself. I recommend this movie to anyone who wants to see an incredibly awesome movie, and now that it's out on DVD, you can watch it whenever (Go buy it, I was first in line to get it)!!!

The sequel is coming out next year and I can't wait too. Especially seeing Josh Hartnett play "The Man" again. What was so interesting about the movie beind the scenes is that some of the actors have never met on the set. They did it on separated days. And when I saw the movie I was blown away. I like all the stories in the film. Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, and Rosario Dawson and the rest of the cast were great. For those who are hatin' on this movie,What did you expect? It's called Sin City; To those who love the flick August 16 on DVD.

It's a great movie but the reason why I gave it 3 stars is because the first part, The Hard Goodbye, kinda ruined everything else. The Hard Goodbye features Mickey Rourke as Marv who sets out to avenge a hooker, Goldie (Jaime King). It could've been really good but Rourke's constant narration started to sound like flies buzzing around my ear. The highlight of The Hard Goodbye would have to be Elijah Wood's chilling potrayal of the deadly silent bespectacled killer, Kevin. For this segment, I'll give it 2 out of 5 stars The second part focuses on Dwight (Clive Owen) who sets out to help the gals of Old Town (Britanny Murphy, Rosario Dawson, Devon Aoki, Alexis Bledel etc) as they are terrorized by crook cop, Jackie Boy (Jack Rafferty), played by a very unrecognizable Benicio Del Toro. This one's a bit better with less narration and more blood and guts etc. Clive Owen shines in this with his tough as nails character driving a really really cool car. I'll give this 3 to 3.5 stars out of 5. The final part is linked to the prologue of a good cop, Hartigan (Bruce Willis), who protects a little girl, Nancy Callahan, from the clutches of a paedophile youth Junior (Nick Stahl) who happens to be the son of a very powerful senator. Sure enough, little girl grows up to be a stripper (Jessica Alba) and one might think that the relationship between 19 yr old Nancy and Hartigan has a twang of paedophillia in it. But hey, if no one gives a damn then I won't either. I feel kinda sorry for poor Junior, getting his balls blown off and then having to turn yellow and smelling like crap but then getting his balls ripped out and his head punched into yellow goo over and over. This one's probably 3.5 to 4 stars out of 5. Overall Sin City has come cheesy dialogue straight from the comic book but the violence is satisfying, especially for all you Kill Bill fans.
