Sign in 0 out of 5 users found this helpful  EhWhen I checked out Shrek 2 today, I left Blockbuster thinking that I was in for a treat. Instead, what I got was a major letdown. When I got to the menu, my enthusiasm was already ebbing. I don't know what it was, but the banter between the characters seemed like a knockoff of the first Shrek. And this was just the MENU. So when the movie started playing, opening with the honeymoon, I sat there, chuckling here and there, and waiting for something to happen. That waiting went on for HALF AN HOUR. Sure, there were some cute parts. There were parts that were actually funny. Like gold nuggets. One here, one there. Leading up to one HUGE chunk. But that one huge chunk never came. The movie seemed to lead up to something the entire time, and in the end just kinda burped out a resolution. There are some good parts, like when Puss in Boots showed up, or Pinocios nose in the dungeon scene, or the Ugly Stepsister. But the FEEL wasn't there. You might like this movie, maybe I'm just crazy. But I don't recomend it. Please don't hate me for expressing my opion. Was this review helpful? I highly recommend it for your little children as they love faerie tales. Even for the older ones, I do agree that there are many parts that they would just adore!
I believe that there were a few words a little inappropriate for your toddlers or your younger children. but other than that it's fine. For the adults, unless you are the happy movie lovers sort of person, I highly recommend it for you, but if you are a sort of...serious and ...well that kind of person, you may want something less comical. All in all, it's a great movie for the entire family to enjoy! You should...rent it(depending on when you read this as you will be able to rent it on Friday November 5th, I beleve) or watch it in the movie theaters. I hope that this review has helped you though I highly doubt either I or somebody else will read this out of the over 200 reviews...well...yes. Was this review helpful? The animation is still breathtaking, the dialouge quick witted and funny,and the story line is still the untraditional fairy tale. <br>I would go back and watch it again and again, much like the first.
