Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful While I am a huge action movie fan, the gun bursts and explosions did not make up for a lack of script and plot.
I usually enjoy Marks performances and was hoping to be entertained with his talents. Instead I found the dialog to be really lacking, merely the noise in between action scenes. Sad to say, his female co-star was no help at all. The sniper scenes were pretty smooth but the ending was pointless.
Looking forward to seeing Marks next attempt. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful This was actually a decent movie. I go to a movie to be entertained. I read books to enrich my mind. This movie was somewhat realistic, especially given the politics of what is happening in the world today. Ask any vet...
Go see the movie, eat popcorn, drink a soda, and enjoy the fireworks. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful I took my 17 old son to see this movie and was surprised by the more violent shooting scenes. Overall it wasnt a bad flick. Minus some of the head shots I would have given it a 4 stars. If you want get rid of some zombies I hope you live by a professional sniper. Mark Walhberg plays his character Bobby Lee Swagger much like his role in Four Brothers. Instinctive and very much aware of surroundings, although he is more Rambo like. Also there is alot of political behind the office door war games being played out and the FBI players go above and beyond to get to the truth. Too bad in real life they werent so talented prior to 9-11. Or were they? Just a thought. Anyways there is enough action to keep you entertained, but the bottom line is it could have been much better.
You might want to wait for the DVD. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Shooter was a great movie and story. I compare it with the average Tom Clancy novels. Mark Wahlberg has come along way since Marky mark. I agree with another reviewer when saying they are not the same people anymore. The move had great effects and could be plausible. The life of a sniper is somewhat acuratly portrayed to an extent. All you snipers out there, dont let this move inflate your ego. If you go on a shooting rampage such as this, you dont walk away. Its a movie. Accept it for what it is. If moves where always an accurate reflection of life it would be a scary world or a lackluster movie. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Well, Shooter seemed pretty ok to me maybe because I reside in Philly and all the Philly scenes were tough as in decent for yall non-Phillians. Oh, yeah theres one thing I can say about those aerial scenes with the chopper is that it did seem a little impossible for Bob Swagger to be out shooting a chopper gunner with single shots like he was point blank. I mean...Cmon a helicopter guys its not like he had a M-60 anti-craft gun, but Mark Walhberg is still one of the best-talented actors so my props to him. (Not A Hater) Great SFX Was this review helpful? THis was a decent movie, thought it could have ended differently but bottom line I was entertained, didnt read the book, didnt try and see some political angle and didnt try and find flaws. I like to sit in the dark threatre and pretend the movies make believe is pausible. Anyone who goes to movie and think to themselves that anything they see should reflect real life scenarios doesnt understand the concept of enjoying movie for entertainment purposes only. Like one reviewer wrote the shooter goes back to old Arnold S., Bruce Willis (Cant wait to see Die Hard 4) action type movie. I dont look at Mark Walberg and think Marky Mark, hes a different person now. Was this review helpful? The word typewriters is misspelled in your comment. And the word dictionary is not a proper noun and therefore not capitalized. Was this review helpful? Sign In | ||
