The love story has to be the best I have ever seen. I can't seem to stop watching the love scenes between Ben Thomas (Will Smith) and Emily (Rosario Dawson). It was truly magical! Cupid is shooting love arrows all over the place! If you have not seen this movie, be prepared to shed more then a few tears. Oh yeah! You're going to love the music in this film. As always Mr. Smith does a wonderful job at everything he does.

There we're lots of Biblical allusion throughout this film that I must point out; however, I will not elaborate much on it or maybe not at all. Will Smith who played as Ben Thomas went around trying to help people although some people are disturb by his actions. In the beginning, he mentions that "seven days God created the earth, and seven days he shattered his". As he mentions this phrase, he was shot as the only man along with the water and land. Ben Thomas also predicts his death in this film before he killed himself.
Another great part about this film is the symbolic of the number seven. Seven a part of the title of this film - This is really important because that number keeps showing up in this film. For example, in my first paragraph, I mention Ben Thomas talking about 7 days that God created the earth, and 7 seconds, he shatters his. He also had seven people on his list to change their lives. As he rents a hotel, he asked to stay in the hotel for two weeks. Two weeks is 14 days, and 14 divided by 2 is 7.
Some people mentions that the film was confusing; however, I feel like the director did it on purpose because I understood confusion of Ben Thomas himself. Ben was confused throughout his journey of this film because he doesn't know if the people he is doing a favor to deserves it. Which is why he says "Because I get the feeling that you really deserve it". He is unsure. He could of said "Because I know you really deserve what I have to offer."
The sympathy which people feels towards this film is actually (to my opinion) reasonable. Some people say that the romance of this film is not really there; however, I feel like the director wants the audience to have sympathy towards Ben lifestyle, and not be involve with the romance scene.

One day I asked my wife, "Why do I keep thinking about this movie?'', she just smiled. It was powerful to say the least. It was like nothing I've ever seen. Will did a great job. A must see. During beginning of the movie you sit there wondering "why am I still sitting here?" and "when is the movie going to do something?" There were countless cells phones being flipped open while we waited for something to happen – anything to happen. On top of a lagging pace during the first half of the film, which moved so slowly you’ll be in danger of dozing out of boredom, the too short scenes kept hopping all over the place making it difficult to make sense out of anything. I believe what the director / producer were trying to do was build tension; instead all you saw was the main character looking like he’s about to cry in nearly every scene while sitting there wondering what's going on, what is this movie about, is the guy crazy, is he a stalker, or a possible killer.
Halfway into the movie, the pace starts picking up, scenes aren’t so randomly strung together, the scenes are longer instead of tiny snippets, giving you the opportunity to get a grip on what is going on.
The redeeming feature for this movie was the approaching ending and the actual ending, saving this film from being a complete disaster – the ending was definitely worthy of praise, which pulled all of the pieces together in an intense, sad, bitter sweet, emotionally charged ending – bring a box of tissues, you’ll need it. What ever the reason, it was really good, but as a friend put it, it does stir one and made me feel alive as I felt the actor's pain. Like a Russian novel, the torture of some experiences is wildly powerful and hauting. The first half of the movie was abstract, but worth the wait if one is interested in the contemplations of good v. bad in the various levels of inward retrospection. Was this review helpful? A beautiful, yet dark movie...Will Smith is great once again, and the supporting cast pulled off a masterpiece...I don't care what reviews and critics say, this is a masterpiece...a selfless masterpiece that doesn't work at drawing attention to itself.
Go see this movie...guys beware, you may get caught fighting the tears too... Was this review helpful? We knew nothing about it and frankly, I was disappointed that we were seeing it rather than another of my choosing. But WOW. Was I glad I went. Outstanding; simply outstanding. I just read some of the reviews from a few who thought it was a waste of time. I wonder what movie they were watching. Maybe their popcorn wasn't buttery enough and that set the tone. The acting was superb; the plot was intriguing because it took a while to understand what was happening. But as it unfolded, we found it to be superb. Great movie. This movie is AWESOME, AMAZING and worth every penny to see in the theater. I NEVER write reviews...never, but I had to let people hear my voice about this one. The acting from the entire cast is superb and totally worth Academy awards on multiple levels. I wasn't exactly sure of what this movie was all about based on the previews but I was pleasantly surprised beyond belief, after the movie, all the way home etc., I am not sure when the effects of this movie will wear off. Here is my advice: GO SEE IT... ASAP. Touching, real, beautiful and an amazing plot....I have only good things to say and I am a harsh critic of movies. This is the best movie I have seen in years with a full circle plot leaving no stone unturned. Sign In 0 out of 1 users found this helpful  HorriblePosted: 1/4/2009A review of Seven Pounds by jillianj28 I went to sse it because the commercials made me wonder what it was about.Well sitting through it I was bored to say the least.I was scared to go to the restroom in fear that I may miss the point of this awful movie.It came together at the very long end.I think they made it so people will cry.I cry easily in movies and did not shed one tear.I left feeling really annoyed that I wasted 2 hours of my day.Iw ould have rather have watched paint dry.I would advise people not even to rent it but to wait till t comes on t.v with commercials.
