I believe many people don't undersatand the movie and that's why there's negative reviews. But those of us who understand whats going on knows that saw v was another brilliant addition to the story line. Keep up the good work ! I can't wait till the next addition comes out. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Absolutely mind blowing. Here we see the masterpiece set up by Hoffman inspired by Jigsaw from the second film. It doesn't get any better than this. We were led to believe that Amanda was to be the apprentice, but nope, there's always a ram in the bush. Clearly the true apprentice is Hoffman and he lived up to it. He was finally able to do what Jigsaw has always done and thats be able to predict the human mind. You can tell in the earlier movies that the traps were Hoffman's because they didn't follow the general scheme of Jigsaw. This time however, he got it right. Plus, we get to see how it all began for Hoffman and that is a true mystery being revealed. Great movie, love this series, and can't wait for Saw VI next year. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful I was super hyped to see this installment of Saw V but was disappointed when I did see it. It should really be called Saw 3 1/2 since it fills in on Hoffman's and Jigsaw's meet and greet. The traps were ok, but nothing compared to the twister in Saw 3 or Amanda's head trap. Even though the blood and gore were there...I still needed a shock factor that never came....I'm hopeful that the directors redeem themselves in Saw VI Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful I finally saw it!!! I was so excited...and then what did they tell us? what questions were answered? I hated it! The traps were ok, they could have been better, we've seen better. Why does all of the people from previous movies keep dieing? Saw V went no where. all they told you in this film is how Hoffman and Jigsaw "got together" Hoffman is a killer and jigsaw is far from it. jigsaw's out look is much more different. This film is about hoffman covering his ass, so lets kill them. nobody sees it they was jigsaw does/did. I am telling you in the 6th installment they are going to tell us that jigsaw's wife is involved, some way some how she is. if not THEN WHAT"S IN THE BOX?" I am very upset with this installment. "you'll never believe how it ends" the ending *($@ed!! "The pieces will finally come together" WHEN?
Hoffman is just like amanda... a KILLER. . i remember back when the first saw came out it was amazing....and now its like they are playing a game with us. My point is this movie didnt answer any questions, it wasn't as cringing as the others and the 6th one better be much better than this one. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 11/4/2008A review of Saw V by DriveItHardandFast I have watched all the previous Saw movies and they just keep getting more and more diappointing. We all know what is going to happen and the shock factor isn't really there anymore. As with all movies that go on too long, they inevitably fail to keep audiences happy. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Being a SAW nut for the last few years. I was overall dissapointed in the 5th installment. We still do not know what ever happend to Dr. Gordon. We are still not for sure if Lt. Rigg is dead. We presume he is, but we last saw him lying on the ground shot, nothing fatal. Im getting a little tired of everyone being killed off. We have no one left from the orginals to plug into the role of "good guy" chasing down the "bad guy" (Hoffman). All the orginial characters have been killed off and that has taken away from the newer installments. I somehow wanted Amanda to keep on the work, maybe because Im a hugh Shawnee Smith fan. I dunno.
As far as for the 5th installment. I did like the traps, I liked to concept. I thought Julie Benz looks better as a burnette. :) It was nice to finally see some of the questions answered from the previous movies. How they came together and such. We still do not know what was in the box that Jill was given from John at the attorneys office, we also do not know who left the message on Hoffmans desk of I know who you are. I think viewers were misled by the story line given to them prior to the movie. I read a few times how this one was Hoffman tying up loose ends, basically killing the people that he thought were on to him. I didn't see that. I just think the 5th does not do the main characters justice or give the respect that the first 3 to 4 did. I wont be rushing to see the 6th installment. That one will be the first for me not seen on the big screeen. I may wait until its in a 99cent 1 night rental machine. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 10/28/2008A review of Saw V by SawLover11111 Not only does Saw V explain everything that was going on it leaves on a perfect note, the new Jigsaw was trying to set up Straum so he was not in the equation as a subject which he did, in 4 before Jigsaw dies he ASKED Hoffman to set up a game for him.
It ties up Hoffman's involvements and connects all the Saw's together, it wasn't as gory but it was beautiful and overall a fantastic addition, if I were the Saw guy's director I would come out with Saw VI soon b/c all this negative attention is starting to upset Saw lovers, but I and all my friends who saw it thought it was grotesque, amazing , shocking and filling.
Great job. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful like most of you that saw, saw 5 i was a little disapointed but come on guys you know 6 will ROCK, think about it saw 5 was just a review they have put out a saw EVERY Oct since 2004, they had to do something, So dont give up just wait it will be worth it Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 10/26/2008A review of Saw V by urwurstnitemare It has some originality. But in the end it makes all the people that spend so much time investigating looking for Jigsaw, look so amateure. They never seem to really learn anything. It is getting old fast and not worth the money to see it in theaters.Went to see this movie as a last resort and really feel cheated. Think twice before seening this movie. Try to find something else to do. There were people falling asleep watching this movie. Overheard the people walking next to me talk about how dissapointing this movie was and how the 3rd Saw was the best. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 10/26/2008A review of Saw V by Brainwashed890 I have to say that saw IV was somewhat of a disapointment just because it seemed like a transition movie that only set up saw v. With that out of the way the writers could focus on keeping the same original idea of saw, but kind of turn it in a slightly new direction with this one. Acting isnt the greatest but makes up for it with originality. Great suspense movie. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Like many, I packed up my desk early on Friday to catch an early show of the flick. I just couldn't wait to see the next volume of a mind game. I can't say that I was totally disappointed because it answered questions from Saw IV. But, clearly the flashbacks prevented me from moving deeper into the storyline with new plots. It's scary to think that people actually sit and think about this stuff. I definately will be waiting for Saw VI. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful so i was all pumped for this saw movie, ive watched all the other ones and i really ahd high expectations for this one.... went with a bunch of people to see it opening day...... the theater was packed soo i figured from the previews and the whole"you'll never believe how it ends" thing that we were all in for an amazing time.... unfortuneatly it didnt turn out how i hoped it would..although the saw movie concept is great dont get me wrong, but this one more explained the other 4 and did basicly a recap and then added to the story line.......obviously you can tell from the ending that they are making more, when it did end though people we literally yelling "is that it?" "did they really end it like that?" and "no way"... although they were on point with the you'll never believe how it ends..that to me wasnt a good thing this time around Was this review helpful?
