In short, Saw (the original) had awesome potential with quite the creative story. The acting however, was some of the worse I've ever seen. I can remember my theatre laughing out loud numerous times throughout because it was so corny. Then came Saw II. Better acting but lacking the creative storyline of the first. Onto Saw III - I thought this was better than the first two put together. Better story and way better acting not to mention even more gruesome torture. I was so anxious to see Saw IV but just now got to see it (here it is a month later). I walked out of that theatre and honestly could have walked right back in there and watched it again. I was truly blown away, especially being the 4th installment. This was actually a deep story about a main character with the best acting and torture yet. Everything was executed SO well. It did leave you with a few open ended situations that one only hopes they will resolve in the next one. Highly recommend seeing this film, but be sure you don't have a full stomach before hand

I was very dissappointed when I seen this movie. The timeline, the charactors, and locations never made any scence. I guess after the 3rd movie viewers would catch on to the signature of the killer. However, this movie never came together what were the writers and producers thinking. This was not reviewed before it hit theaters they could have done so much better.

Seemed like the producers made it too fast to try to get it out before halloween. I went to see it twice already and bot times i was confused. the timing on the movie does not make sense. There are alot of timing issues when they tried to tie it to the 3rd movie timeline. BUt i did love all the blood and gore.

The Saw movies are brilliant and interesting, a new genre of horror flicks...Not the usual movie with a happy ending... I am looking foward for other Saw movies, I don't care if they went straight to DVD, they wll be still interesting....

i have to say, this movie is pretty good. thought all 4 SAW movies were good this one got into depth and all 4 movies were combined into one. especially at the end when that one guy from the 3rd movie was still alive and in the room where he killed Jigsaw. I will not lie, it was interesting knowing who was behind all of the mystery this time. especially with Jigsaw dead i highly believe that this one has to be it for the SAW movies. I just can't see the SAW movies continuing only because i can't see that one detective continuing Jigsaw's work.

I'm tired of hearing about people complaining about movies like SAW I, II, III, IV or even the possibility of a SAW V, VI or beyond. Lets think about how many movies the average movie go-er has written, directed, produced or even stared or co-stared in. About none! Stop the whinning and complaining about somebody else's work. And by the way how many of us have watch the Nightmare on Elm street "series" or the Jason "series". They took years in between releases and steal lacked basic creativity, or even average acting and we still watch those over and over and don't whisper complaints now or then. They all *#$@ed then and they all apparently *#$@ even worse now compared to the average horror flicks of today! And for some reason you same "SAV SERIES" nay-sayers whin and complain but still sit down and watch Jason walk down young kids in crapy movies every year. And by the way if you like horror movies you can't complain about above average movies like these and call yourself reasonable and rational critics. You people sound like the same losers that talked down on previously released 300 and all the Spiderman movies. Whatever....

I loved this movie! I loved how it went deeper into a story about Jigsaw's love life. And the story was great. The thing I like about these movies is that you shouldn't expect anything. Because if you do, you'll be completely wrong. It's just cool that way, and this movie did the same thing. I loved it and recommend it to anyone who loves these movies.

It was good that it explained more about Jigsaw, however the story line its self was upseting. When Saw 5 comes out it will be a rental for sure.

I adored the first saw. It is probably my favorite horrow-thriller movie of all time. I was so worried for the characters my heart was beating so fast and when i started to think they werent going to make it the tears streamed from my eyes. The second one was okay in an expected way, so i wasn't mad. But the third one almost broke my heart because it was so far from how wonderful the first one was. Saw 4, however renewed my love. i cannot wait to see the next several installations of this horror series. I even thought the movie was pretty to look at as odd as that may be. The gray operation room with the red, red blood. Gorgeous!

Since October 2004, the mere idea of seeing a Movie that same weekend with a commercial I saw 20 minutes before seemed at the time a Bad Move.Having No Idea what it was about or the story I decided to give it a shot; and boy was I Glad. It had me talking for weeks as the ending captured my attention so much and its Storyline original, unlike other copycat films. As the Second Came I was eager to see it, relive a new experience, have a good time and expect that Twist. And Since The First One, it has become a halloween tradition for me and my friends to see SAW. Its not because of the gore, the tortures but because of the Psychological Twist and the perfectly executed storyline that never seems rushed or out of place and the ideas placed in it that are kept in par and on track with the Storyline; a technique used by many and failed by the mayority, except for the SAW CREATORS. SAW has captured the imaginations of many and revolutionized the Horror Franchise and become a Phenomena. What Star Wars did with SCI FI, SAW did with Horror; Whether people hate it or love it, its the curiosity within them that ignites them to see it and make it such a Sucess for 3 years and become a traditional halloween Film. Props to the New Writers that I so much didnt trust but salute for not losing the Key element that all the SAW movies have. I expect the same dedication and same DIRECTOR that has so loyally stayed with The Franchise and made it a HIT, so when the NEXT SAW movie comes, We can all expect to be entertained knowing that the elements havent been lost and that the horror genre which i love hasn't vanished...I'm ready for a 5th!

I liked the fact that Saw is now becoming a franchise and I am eager to see what more the writers can come up with, but I don't know if my stomach, eyes or ears can take it much more. What made me like the first SAW was that it was suspenseful and dramatic and the viewers had to figure out how everything went together. Now, the movies reminds me of HOSTEL and I hated that movie because it was gratuitously gory which SAW is now following. I enjoyed the twists and turns but lets get back to why they first movie was so great!!!!
