As good a war movie as you'll ever see. Realism, emotion, tremendous film making. The hand held camera action is beyond description. All of the actors were credible in this masterpiece.

With steven spielberg directing, and tom hanks giving his best performance,i consider the one of film the best films I ever seen, its powerful scenes and fantastic making, gives it a special appearance to express the struggles and emotion inside a small group of people in a very important days in the history.(I really admired the script and specially the dialogue between soldiers).

Saving Private Ryan is without a doubt the greatest war film of all time, if not the greatest film in general. Steven Spielbergs epic film about the ugliness and sacrifice of war is unforgettable. The battle scenes are the most intense and realistic ever put on screen. It truely makes you feel like your in the battle. Tom Hanks gives the greatest performance of his career. This film not winning the best picture oscar is the biggest error in the academys history. A classic that will never be forgotten and never should be.

This is the best war movie i have ever seen. I usually never tear up in an movie but Saving Private Ryan brought tears to my eyes. Steven Spielberg made the most perfect war movie ever. I would encourage anyone to watch this, just to show what all of our soldiers went through during WW2.

This is the best World War II film ever made. Steven Spielbergs 30 minute depiction of D-Day features the most goriest and intense war scenes ever filmed. The final battle in the town is also amazing. The film was shot with great accuracy and depth. The handheld camerawork makes this movie feel like it could be real war footage. The editing is great and Steven Spielbergs directing is just perfect. I couldnt believe this movie lost the Best Picture Academy Award to Shakespeare In Love. I felt this was a much better film. If you want to watch any good World War II movies then I suggest this one first. If you cant handle all the violence and gore then I recommend The Longest Day, another classic war film that shows the large scale of the D-Day invasion.

Me and my friends always watch war movies at my house be it Vietnam or World War 2 we love em but so far this has to be one of our favorites. Let me get this threw first, anyone who doesn't like gore please for the love of god don't watch the Omaha Beach scene, I'm tired of people saying how gory that scene was, as me and my friends say: @&*$ it up princess, this isn't Camp Cupcake! Now that's taken care of. First let me start with the sound, If you have surround sound this should be vacation for you, great sound effects in the Omaha Beach scene and the Last Battle scene which really make you feel like you're right beside all the action. Another thing is the acting is great, you really see how the soldiers degrate threw out the movie as one by one their numbers decrease. Also the actors show alot of emotion for all the things happening around them. Overall the acting is some of the best I've ever seen. Really you're just wasting your time reading this review so im stoping halfway threw, GO WATCH THIS MOVIE! Another thing this movie pathetically lost out to Shakespeare in Love for Best Picture at the Oscars, after you watch this movie you'll wonder how it lost, no one will ever know.

This is probaly the most in-depth world war two film in history. It realy focases on the bravory of then men, the willingness to die for each other, none of that macho man rubbish you see in normal films because in world war two, it was just ordanery men fighting, this film captures that beatifly.

This move is easily my favorite movie of all time. If you're not moved by this movie, then you could be the coldest, most heartless person ever. It makes you feel as if you have known the soldiers for years and you really feel for them when they die. When you see that soldier lying, soaking wet, on the beach with his intestines next to him and he's screaming for his mom, you immediately wanna cry and mourn for him. I first saw this movie when I was really young and I thought the opening and closing scenes at the cemetary were really boring and just impeding on the action, but now I realize that those are the most moving and one of the most important parts of the film and I would never fast forward through it anymore.
