This movie is boring, stupid, improbable, contrived, NOT FUNNY AT ALL, more holes in the plot (I use that term lightly) than my decades old socks. DUMB with a capital B...Shirley McLaine gives the only somewhat interesting lines.Aniston is NOT funny. She does little more than scream, cry and stutter. Jameson Thottam kept thinking the movie would just have to get better, however it got worse as it wore on.
Shirley MacLaine made the movie slightly bearable for me, Jameson Thottam. I agree with others Jennifer needs to go back to some sitcom... she is not aging well.. shes as ordinary as the girl next door as is her acting. Maybe, thats what made her good on FRIENDS but she is being over-exposed and its not good for anyone. She is just thin and thats about it and not a pretty thin. I got tired of looking at her face which shows no expression and her hair.. like big deal... its stringy. Both this movie and Derailed, another actress couldve played better. And both movies couldvve been more intense.
Aniston doesnt command intense .. shes more, just there. Coster is prettier than Aniston. Not that looks matter, if someone can act.I laughed.. some cute lines... a cute premise... and again MacLaine.. love her!!!! LOVE her!!!Aniston needs to take a break.. take some acting lessons.. get a make-over.. like Demi Moore did or give it up .. get married and live next door to someone..she is headed for box office poison.. as is horse face Jessica Parker.. there have got to be better actresses ...Please! Jameson Thottam
Give your 14 to charity - dont waste it on this disaster Jameson Thottam Was this review helpful? Great scene Jennifer Anistons facial expressions when Kevin Costner returns after she has met the son. Was this review helpful? a young woman Sarah Huttinger brings who her boyfriend Jeff Daly to her younger sisters wedding when she learns that her family was the inspiration for the book and film The Graduate -- and that she just might be apart of the well-documented event.
I saw this movie only because Jennifer Aniston was in it but when it was over I liked it wither in it or not Jennifer Aniston was. Jennifer Aniston is one of my favorite actors she is mostly known for playing Rachel Green on the hit TV series Friends. She has been in a lot of movies most of them were comedies. Her first movie was a 1993 film LEPRECHAUN a movie I liked. And from then on she did comedies. In 2002 she was challenged with the hit movie The Good Girl opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and that was a serious role, and a movie that I liked. In 2005 she stared in Derailed opposite Clive Owen. And another movie that I liked. And then came Rumor Has it.. Another comedy.
Shirley Maclaine who plays the grandmother in this movie. I found her character to be very annoying and very out of place with the movie. I have never really liked Shirley Maclaine, most of her movies were from back in the 1950s when she started acting.
Rob Reiner directed this fine piece of work. He as never directed anything that I really like except Rumor has it..He made When harry met sally and other bad films. I am glade to see he made a great movie.
The plot of this film is great but it is kind of confusing. It is very involved for a comedy. And they through a lot of things at you all at once. So you have to pay very close attention
Rumor Has It.. Is one of my favorite film of Jennifer Anistons.
Rumor Has It.. Is Funny, Sweat, and a real charmer. A movie to remember! Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 2/11/2006A review of Rumor Has It... by Anonymous this movie was awesome.
however, i did not see it. Was this review helpful? Sign In 6 out of 9 users found this helpful Posted: 1/20/2006A review of Rumor Has It... by UrsulaUSA Rumor Has It... Was produced from an original screenplay by Ted Griffin who was initially set to direct the film, but soon after making began he was replaced, with Rob Reiner realizing the venture.
The film opens with Sarah Huttinger (Jennifer Aniston), who has spent most of her adult life in New York City, flying home to Pasadena, California with Jeff Daly (Mark Ruffalo), her long time boyfriend. She is going to her home to attend the wedding of her tediously vibrant younger sister, Annie (Mena Suvari), which means spending a lot of time with her tennis-obsessed Pasadena family.
There Sarah and Jeff announces that they are engaged to be married, and after that Sarah starts having regrets. She is not eager to spend time with the family where she always felt like the odd one out and when it comes to her relatives, she never felt a part of things. But when she meets Internet millionaire Beau Burroughs, their encounter suddenly releases some spotless coverts that might help Sarah expose the fact about her family and at last discover her own self.
MPAA Rating PG-13 for mature thematic material, sexual content, crude humour and a drug reference. Was this review helpful? People have to forget the actors real lives, take their imagination and let it run. The best player in this show was Shirley McClaine Absolutly hillarious. I was doing silent laughs! I would go again and take my Graduate era sisters. Was this review helpful? This one is to be enjoyed at home. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 1/13/2006A review of Rumor Has It... by Anonymous You have the talent. Aniston, Costner, and MacLaine are all big names in Hollywood. But the storyline is boring and the plot a little too quirky for me. The movie got very tedious at some points. There comedic parts are actually funny sometimes.
This is just my opinion. You should never take these internet reviews seriously! Everyone has different tastes as to what makes a good movie for them. You may like it.
My Advice You should see this movie at least once, but dont pay eleven bucks at the theater. Wait for it to rent. Not that the movie is worth the wait, just that the movie is not worth the extra cash to see it in theaters. Was this review helpful? Dont waste you money, more importantly dont waste your time. Was this review helpful? If there wasnt such good actors I would not have saw it. IF I were you I wouldnt waste my money in the theaters and what for it to come out on rental. Was this review helpful? Mark Ruffalo is not the most talented actor. He offered little to the movie.
The plot was cute. Jennifer was herself - cute, funny, frustrating! A couple of times acted like a dumb bunny.
Shirley McClain was the hit of the show! If you want to see this movie, go to see her - not Jennifer. Was this review helpful? The critics seem to always be wrong with their ratings. My daughter an I went to see the movie today, and we both truly enjoyed the film. It was good to see Aniston work with Costner. They worked well together. A good film. I look forward to owning it on DVD. Was this review helpful? The story is really funny and the situations work out right in the end. Everyone in the cast plays a very good part and make the whole thing believable. I laughed so loud my girlfriend had to shsssh me. Well worth the money and the time. Was this review helpful? Sign In | ||
