With its casrismatic leading man, although a brutal thug, it shows how lives can be altered in the breaking of a bone or two. The film starts off with extreme racial violence but then leads into more of a love triangle story. The film has hardcore violence throughout but it also has some classy camera shots and an equally as violent soundtrack.<br>Crowe is fantastic as his supporting cast who's performances are outstanding.This film recived a lot of critisim because of its racial content but if you can lok past that it is a most intresting peice of work. I own the dvd and although the special features are almost non existant the money i paid is fully worth for the film its self.<br>The directing and acting in this film was excellent as was the musical score, as half of ther film was shot on a smaller film than usual it gives a blue tinge to some scenes which help to emphasisie their imortance and help to show feeling of the characters. <br>Overall i thiought this film was a great watch and i was impressed by the way it tackled racisim without compramise.<br> Was this review helpful? God sent us."<br><br>If you like American History X, you will LOVE Romper Stomper... and might I say Russel Crowe has never looked better!<br><br>Definitely a product of the film noir genre with it's off centered and oddly posed camera angles and bluish tint. But, Cat, you do realize that this was not a hollywood movie, don't you? This was an Australian movie, and by the way, it was made before Russell Crowe became famous. Just so you know. Keeps the viewer interested from the word go and very interesting mix of characters. fantastic scene where the Police arrive at the gang's warehouse. Only downside is the poor picture quality. Physical violence mixed with the germanic Waffen S.S. culture made me go out and buy it for my horror movie collection.
