Its action packed and just a really kick a s s movie. Milla does another great performance as Alice and I really enjoyed all of the action sequences in the film. I would like to think anyone that is as big of a Resident Evil fan such as myself would really enjoy this latest edition as I think this one topped them all. Was this review helpful? It totally goes according to the video games: mad scientist hungry for power, experimentation on zombies and the scary feeling that something might jump at you.Its all about the virus evolving in different ways. I admit I was expecting more from Wesker and where was Jill? Doctor Isaacs goes completely mad and does like the other scientist in the video games(Resident Evil 2) I love this movie and I definately recommend it. This third one falls short big time. It doesn't have as much action to it and the plot #$%&s. The first two have both a strong plot and action that keeps the movie moving. This one seemed a bit slow and old. Ya know like you've seen it before over and over again. And what about all the cheesy dialogue. What happen to the writers with this movie did they get infected with the virus? The fighting at the end was pretty good. I saw this movie a week ago and I'm already forgetting most of it. The first two made more of an inpact. The movie did relieve my boredom for the night, but that's not saying much. So if ya want something entertaining to do I guess you could go see this movie, but I would suggest 3:10 to Yuma-Brilliant movie, great action, and strong plot! Was this review helpful? Had a few good jump-outta-yer-seat moments and I actually found myself getting tense during quite a few scenes. And I'm the kind of guy you can't watch a military or cop movie with because I always point out all the unrealistic stuff. Sure, the acting was spotty at best, but that's no different than the first two movies. Honestly I don't think anyone was expecting any Oscar nods anyway. (Mila does so well as Alice - what was her problem in Ultraviolet? Can't figure that one out!) I do agree that the ending could have been stronger, but I didn't leave feeling disappointed or cheated. Did we not already see, everything we saw in this movie from the first two? Mix that in with a little Mad Max and you have the bore that is Extinction! Boy! Paul Anderson must've been bored on this one! The writings' crap, acting is crap, story is crap. It's all redundant and absolutely not one single thing is new in this film. You can make an excuse and say what can you expect from a zombie flick, but they seemed to do a PRETTY DARN good job with the first two.
I'm sorry, but this is just plain writer laziness and I cant belive the studios back these bad films. She really needed a hit too after that terrible Ultraviolet. I'm starting to lose faith in Mila. She became one of my faves, and I know it's not her fault completely, but there does come a time when art overrides money right? I totally do not support bootlegs, but if you can get a free bootleg, this movie MIGHT be worth you're time! Was this review helpful? I am a Res Evil fan, so I was just happy to see Milla and Oded in action again. My teenage daughter and DH both enjoyed it, although they agree if you are not a fan, as a stand alone film it was fair.
Ali Larter from "Heroes" is a great new character, and I would have to seen a little longer movie and more in depth exploration of some of the plot lines that each seemed "rushed" and left us wanting more details.
I work for a movie theater, so I don't pay to see them. If I had paid to see this, I would not have felt cheated at all--I truly enjoyed it. I will buy the dvd to finish out the trilogy. I had some suspense, some thrills, and our beloved characters. Not an Oscar contender, but are zombie movies ever?
Go see it and enjoy the closure. I agree with those that don't want to see any more Resident Evil films. Let the series die along with many of the main characters. Was this review helpful? The finale is horribly anti-climatic, they kill almost everyone and the ones who are not dead or dying simply disappear (Jill anyone?)
Other prominent Res Evil figures appear albeit very briefly (Albert Wesker)
This movie is predictable from start to finish and weak in plot and theory. Anything original and good remains barely used while over the top cheap thrills stick around to excite the children and slight the generation that grew up in 96 playing the original.
I hope this is the last Resident Evil movie and the last two hours I have to spend watching Milla the super woman lay waste to legions of things one scene after another . . . can she play any other type of role or is this euro model product really that one dimensional. Await further critic slamming Resident Evil movie buffs because your series just ended worst than Blade 3 and almost as badly as X men . . .
