Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful  Not a direct game adaptationPosted: 1/3/2007A review of Resident Evil: Apocalypse by aZombieAmongUs2 Just for starters this movie does NOT follow the games it is not about Jill Valentine or Nemisis it is about Alice and her struggle with the umbrella corp. Jill and Nemisis are just additional characters to tie the game to the movie. This movie is an action movie with some horror thrown into the mix, it still follows the plot of the first movie and does stay on the same track as the game (as jill has little more than her gun to help her fight the hordes of the undead) but again Jill is not the focus. I swear, if youre not a Resident Evil fan, just leave it to the pros, like me. Anyway, now onto the review, I agree that Nemisis couldve been better, but his guns were extremely powerful. If anyone thinks that Nemisis is pathetic, I feel sorry for you, because youve got a ton of people angry with you now, including me. This movie is very much a great follow up from the first movie. So, if I were you, in which thankfully, Im not, I would rather leave it to someone who has seen the movie all the way through to rate it. The worst movie ever is that psychotic Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck movie, Gigli. But hey, you psycho babblers, Im going back to work now. Was this review helpful? Now, before you say Im just being biased because Im not familiar with the games, think again. Ive seen all of the Resident Evil games (Except those in the Survivor series and Resident Evil Gaiden) This movie is not, I repeat NOT Resident Evil. All right. I give them credit for putting Jill Valentine and Nemesis into the film, but in all honesty, they seem to have been put in merely for their namesakes. Jill, the star of two of the games, did barely anything. Nearly every time she was about to pull off a cool move, she stumbled and Alice pops in out of nowhere to save her. Now then, on to Nemesis. Nemesis, the hulking, powerhouse of a monster that was only able to be destroyed by a nuke, should not ever EVER be able to be beaten by someone pulling off kung-fu moves on him. Let me clarify this. He survived being shot, burned alive, being hit point-blank with a huge rail cannon, AND being hit by a nuke to stop him. No matter how strong the T-virus made Alice, no one should be able to go toe-to-toe with Nemesis. Save your money. Dont even give them the tiny bit the company would get from you renting this. OK resident evil 1 was a starter to get u into it no ps1 or ps2 game was invented for it at the and u see the chick(forgotten name) walking throug the crashed cars and dead boddies.this is the start of the 2 ps1 game. then the 2nd movie is more bassed on the ps1 first resident evil.
NEMESIS- the creature was invent as a boi weapon(see in RE2 ps1) he is created to fight with ?allis? (forgotteen name lol) to see who can win and who is stronger in mined and strength to be used in wars and military ect.they made the inventoin to smart and they remember every thing.
when they recreate allis she becomes more smarter and the cycal bigings agian with a new creatur to fight against. i loved the movie but peolpe need to understand wat is happening throught out it if u dont play any games of it or havent see the first one dont see it untill u understand the rest.i finish RE2 ps1 in 1 hour lol i love it and i hope this has help a lil in understanding the hole experience of the movies and game they r the hottest around. mwa thanks Was this review helpful? I love the games and the 1st resident evil was acceptable because of low budget obviously. But the second had no excuse for bad acting and stupid ideas. It should never have departed from the human effort to survive. Thats what makes a zombie thriller. Not a superhero and some cheap villian. Oh no he has invulnerablity...and a rocket launcher!!! Not fair!... I better beat him with my fists. Stupid all the way through, I wish for my sake and yours they would have stuck with the script of the game. It was more engrossing, scarier, and more exciting. They basically took crap, ate it, then crapped it out and called it this movie. It was even better than the first Resident Evil. Mila Jovovich was better than ever and so badass. I hope there'll be a sequel, but I think they'll make a sequel. In case there will be a sequel and Leon Kennedy will be in it that will be cool, I think Chad Michael Murray will make a good Leon Kennedy. Good story, hot looking girls and LOTS of gunplay.
Humor,horror and action all in one movie.

1-the ends r the same evil prevails truth is hidden and umberalla won which for me makes an unhappy ending for the the 2 movies.
2-the re2 movie could b much longer than 1:30 mins by explaining some hidden points in the movie like what happened 2 alice and matt and how he became the nemsis and what happened inside the hive after the incidents of re1.
finally i feel that there is RE3 but i can't think that they will make milla one of the bad guys could this happnen?and could someone explain what happened 2 her in the end of re2. But I was very impressed with how this sequel turned out. The only small problems with this film I had was the amount of time that was spent showing clips from the first move. And the lack of a given time frame. But I guess that was the best way to bring the two stories together. And like I said, it was a minor problem! Was this review helpful? Sign In 7 out of 9 users found this helpful Who cares if its got great lines ?Posted: 10/13/2004A review of Resident Evil: Apocalypse by -phyré Ok, first of all i want to point out what kind of movie this is, it is a SCIENCE FICTION which basically means it isnt real and anything goes, so any other critics that are whinging about the unrealistic effects need to find a dictionary and look up a few terms. A great film overall with amazing action, yes it typical action, explosions and effects but thats what we like, if you want to watch an action film you dont really consider the meaning and philosophy you just go to see someone do something that never really happens.
