It has a great plot and acting is very good. Hayden Panettiere - Sheryl Yoast, is cute as a huge fan of football. Denzel Washington is the perfect portrayal of tough Coach Herman Boone. It's about a team of both white and black races coming together and trying to live in the sounthern time where everybody doubted it would work. It's a movie for those who love drama or comedy, it's a movie for those who love football, it's a movie that can teach kids. I'm still in high school and my teachers are always showing this movie. I myself have seen this movie so many times I've memorized almost the entire dialogue and the songs. The actors for the movie were definitely the right kind of people for the job. I also enjoy how they show real documentary and further epilogues about most of the characters, in real life. Because this is a true story...it makes it even better! Was this review helpful? This is a good movie to watch in History class, if you are working on intergration. There are a couple of gliches in the movie that might me noticed if you know alot about Virginia high school football. The state championship came, in real life, was played at Victory Statium in Ronoake, Virginia [=)]and the team was Andrew Lewis High School, back when it was still around. In the movie, if I am correct, the statium was called something else and the team wasn't Andrew Lewis. Also, the scoring was wrong, the Titans shut-downed the other team. They made the scoring close to make it more intense for the viewers! During the end credits it tells what happened to the real people, so that is interesting to read. Please see this movie, even though it is already out on DvD and VhS. This is definetly a family movie. Thank you for reading Was this review helpful? The actors were true to theirself and showed it in their roles that they played. Denzel Washington is a hot action man. He played his role very very well. This movie is my favorite. It is for football fans and non-football fans. Is about a group of white and black kids standing together thru a time of racial turmoil to win football games and came out as friends on and off the field. They brought together a whole town with their actions. It is a feel good movie and an inspirational movie that forces you to look inside yourself to see what kind of person you are and how you would handle a situation these young men were in. I've noticed that other reviewers who feel the same, got pretty negative feedback. I really don't understand why, for in my opinion the story was terrific of a team and a town coming together despite differences. If you don't like football, I truly am sorry but there is more to the movie than that. I really do feel that unless you totally despise the sport you will enjoy this film. Was this review helpful? Trust me high school football players across the nation, after when you guys watch this movie, You guys will think that the football is the greatest sport in the world that there is no other sports in this world as such as football. The deals with alot of different problems that the world had back then.. plus to this day we are still fighting this fight. Sure its not that big of a thing now a days .. but its still there.. and I think it will always be there... Its one that you are able to watch over and over. When I first saw this film I wanted to bye it and watch it again. The issuses that are brought up in the film give people an idea, although mainly focused on football, of what the Amercians of different races had to go through, and how this particular town, overcame it by such a thing as needing to be a football team, working together.
