I bought the DVD just so I can have it in my Bond collection but Quantum of Solace is a big disappointment. The plot is very confusing, the action scenes are way too fast and too close to the actors, there were squandered opportunities for quips (at the end of the car chase scene, Bond should have said "I hate tailgaters."), no Q or Moneypenny, and I still don't understand why Mathis (from Casino Royale) was in the movie at all. They should have shown how Bond got to Bolivia after having his credit cards cancelled and there should have been a connection between leaving Greene in the desert and confronting Vesper's boyfriend at the end. This movie is a cut-and-paste job and just doesn't "flow."

It has been proven over and over again...We need TRADITION , there is not only nothing wrong with it ,but it is like traditional food,in knowing what to expect, it becomes part of us, reminds us of previous moments and in result makes us feel good. That's what Bond movies brought for me ,and for so many people.Fantasy, beutiful settings, sophisticated women as well as plots, gadgets, Q, etc,etc... Just the other day I was watching a documentary about how incredibly hard was for A. Broccoli to do the set for "The Spy who loved me", even needing the help of Stanley Kubric (just to help with the lighting nof the Submarine station set). Being about the only movie franchise that kept on going decade to decade with those ingredients (that some peolpe call antiquated), tells us that the formula worked. Bond is not about "force"but about ironic cleverness with shameless attitude helped by sophisticeted gadgets and entourage.Isn't that whhat everybody would like to have?Isn't that franchise what "Bourne "is aspiring to have ,too? So that said...let "Bourne ,be Bourne" and "Bond ,be Bond.....James Bond...."

I watched it twice, it was that good. Craig is definitely the best Bond there is. Go see it.

Having grown up in the increasing campiness of Roger Moore's 007, I was delighted when I later discovered Sean Connery's Bond of the series originations. Dalton was bland, and Brosnan was good, but had the physique of my four year old neice - hardly believable busting up the bad guys, and that other guy... don't even mention him. Enter Craig in Casino Royale. To be frank, I expected Craig, blond and not brandishing the traditional rugged looks, to fail miserably. I was wrong. With it's sweeping cinematography and Craig's acting and physique, Casino became the quintessential Bond flick--the romance and intrigue of the series at its height... which is what makes the fall of Solace even more dramatic. It's safe to say that "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" is a better Bond flick than Solace, which is now the low point for the series. It's a fine action movie, for sure, but it is clear that its director is a one-trick pony who regurgitated another Bourne flick and slapped the Bond title on it. From the non-stop action that is shot in a manner so unwatchably fast-paced, you'll swear there's an intent to send epileptics into fits, to the dreary, almost-colorless, grainy manner in which it's presented, you wouldn't be at all surprised to find Matt Damon lurking around the next corner. Gorgeous cinematography? Gone. Sauve agent? Gone. Beautiful Bond Girls? Gone. Cool gadgets? Gone. Sophisticated story-telling? Gone. James Bond? Gone. Save your cash, and go rent Casino... or Goldfinger... or one of the Bourne movies. Those will all be more satisfying because they'll exceed expectations. This won't even come close.

This movie was defiantly worth going to see. I have seen every 007 movie and Shawn Connery is a classic but Daniel Craig really.... puts a true 007 character into view. This movie had some of the best, up close scenes, I have ever seen. I went back and watched Casino Royale and this one really is much better. Its worth it! And you horrible so called "Critics"! You need to get out of 1920 and come to the now!!

First off let just say that daniel craig really ouit did himself again in this film, very excellent job. but to say the QOS had allot of action, but little to much, the dierctor should have did sort of like casino royale, but in this film you really see how 007 becomes the 007 we know today from Pierce Brosnan's 007 films. I would say QOS deserves a 5 stars because of how daniel realy acted some parts of the movie, and at the end of the film was really good, and that was a good ending, but to put the gun barrel at the end of the film......COME ON MAN, for god's sake put it at the begining, but Quantum of solace really has good actors and good villian, and wonerful bond girls this time around. and the main title sequence really blew me out of my seat, with the song another way 2 die, was 10 stars for me, wonderful song. but QOS did really good with me, and this is a true James Bond Movie, lets see what Daniel has in Store for us, in 2010 or 2011, for Bond 23. 5 STARS.

There goes the neighborhood. Bond has left the building and been replaced by yet another sci-fi action thriller in a sequence of action so fast you have to remember to breathe during the movie. We will miss you bond (cool cars, plains, trains, funny punch lines to boast male ego's, woman that stun us, unusual gaggets that are years ahead of the technology market, oh yeah a plot we aren't guessing what is going on throughout the movie etc..)

Maybe it's a guy thing. i enjoyed it, my wife did not. Somewhat hard to follow, and not Casino Royale, but a good film. Daniel Craig is a dangerous and ruthless Bond.

A pure action movie stringing together chase sequences, pyrotechnics and murders. Daniel Craig is a pure killing machine unlike the prior Bonds and minus all the savoir faire and gadgets from the prior Bond films. Devotees of the Jason Bourne films will identify immediately with the total action and negligble plot structure of this genre. The only missing element is an appearance by the Terminator. Sit back, marvel at the stunt actors, and enjoy the film for its non-stop brutality.

Yes, sadly this one is no Casino Royale, but Daniel Craig is utterly watchable start to finish and carries this poorly written and utterly confusing sequal. Cudos to casting, the villian is great but the "Bond girls" seem like an afterthought, perhaps we can have a contest for the the next installment, let us viewers write the screenplay and KO those "professional" writers!!
