The critics are full of #$%&. No its not oscar worthy but what is, the crap they do vote in oscars is usually boring. The critics said Hillary can't do cute they're full of sh__, shes very cute in this movie. Eyes wide shut, now that was a movie I describe as painful. Was this review helpful? I wasn't looking for great acting, if I were, I would go see the boring movies that always win the oscars no one ever goes to see.
It was fun, sad, happy and surprising throughout. I watched it a few times, this last time, my husband watched it with me and even though he was tired and ready to crash, he couldn't stop watching and watched the whole thing with me. He is not a girly movie guy by any stretch of the imagination and watches girly movies very rarely with me.
Be ready to cry, even on my fourth time watching, I still cried. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 12/16/2008A review of P.S. Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 8/25/2008A review of P.S. I Love You by babyca9 I read reviews for this movie and since I was feeling a little grumpy I thought a tear jerker might help me feel better...boy was I right. I cried and laughed and cried a whole lot more. I even cried and laughed simultaniously which I dont think a movie has ever done to me.
I love Gerard Butler from 300 and was happy to see him in this but I got an even bigger suprise with Jeffery Dean Morgan, what a hottie. He really made me forget about Gerry for a while as I'm sure Holly did too.
My husband caught the very end (he hates chick flicks so he avoided the living room while I was watching it) and he cried and said he didnt even know what the movie was about.
If you love movies that make you cry you have to watch this, it was great. Hillary Swank was great in it as well as Kathy Bates even Lisa Kudrow was hilarious.
Must see. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 6/12/2008A review of P.S. I Love You by Jameses1221 I saw this movie for the first time yesterday, and it was an extraordinary film. I very rarely shed a tear for anything, and this movie, because it's so great, had evoked emotions and made me cry twice. It's beautiful! Was this review helpful? I love my husband dearly, and I found it very easy to put myself in Holly's shoes and feel her journey as if it were my own! Not only that, but the movie piqued my interest in the Irish culture and the country of Ireland! Maybe it seems too sappy or hokie for some, but I loved it, and will recommend it to my girlfriends! Shame! For the film provided a breath of fresh air, on a topic that alot of women deal with in their lifetime. Personally appreciated was the fact, this film was not over glamorized. It kept the tone coherently real, yet, romantic, though not gushy. The acting was top notch, as it continually provided hope in every scene.
It demonstrated an appreciation for family values, and the importance of good friends in these tough to travel times. Yes! I am one of these widows, though a generation older than our main character. I believe for all women, it provides a
sense of the Universal. That we are strong women, and are able to overcome the adversity, life often throws at us. The film reaffirmed, that Life does move forward in a positive way. I went through 3 kleenex. You know it's a good movie if you have more than one kleenex! Hillary Swank is awesome. She is a great and versitile actress. Gerrard Butler.......his accent.....omg...the best. It was great. I'm buying it! Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 2 users found this helpful Posted: 5/11/2008A review of P.S. I Love You by ematheny I was very dissapointed with this movie. I am a huge romantic movie kind of person and the plot line was just terrible. I mean... Her husband dies! And she is moving on.. writing letters from the dead. I just didn't find it to be anything that I expected. Hillary Swank is a great actress but she needs to make differenced is her movies like "Freedom Writers" I dont' thinks she can play the romantic depressed widow part. Was this review helpful? I AM so gald she did and so is her Dad. What a fantastic love story. I hated for it to end, I would highly suggest anyone see this, it's not just a chick flick. All the acting was great ad the music was also fantatsic with a great final song by "Flogging Molly" Can't wait to buy this. Was this review helpful?
