I love Umas character Rafi because she is learning to enjoy life again and Bryans character gives her appreciation for the little park she passes everyday and just being free. But then she gets annoyed with his un-employment and the honeymoon stage is over. I laughed out-loud a lot during the movie - favorite lines I could just knit it a hat! and Advice, do not buy Playstation, do you like to have ... I was pleasantly surprised with the dialog, however the therepy sessions seemed a bit much. I dont quite understand why Meryl Streeps character, the mom, was made such a big deal over, the story was more about the romance and Meryl Streeps whole hes my son plot seemed like there should have been less of it and more of the romance. I hated the ending because even though they were in different points in their life they should have tried harder to make it work, they are in love. I guess I just love happy ending.

some parts made me laugh, but the ending is weak. But then again, it has the only ending a movie like this CAN have. so then I ask why make it? it seems kind of pointless to make a film that by its nature, has to have an unsatisfying ending. If the ending is no good, people dont want to watch it over and over again. No one dies, has an epiphany, or gets married. its just a boring sizzle-out. btw, uma thurman is HOT )

Why was the mic dangling over the actors head during the movie ? Im not an educated movie critique but Ive seen many movies and I love Merly Streep and Ulma Thurman. I think they both were excellent. I loved the subject matter also. However why cant a young man have an extended relationship with an older woman? Men do it all the time and somehow im most movies the writers always make it work. Its okay that the older woman acknowledges that the younger man has not fully lived his life so she backs away but why cant she have a long term relationship and then back away? I guess male writers most often write from their vantage point. They never seem to be objective. I like strong women characters and sometimes I would like them to come out on the better end of the deal. All this said, I definitely had serious problems watching the movie with the mic dangling on the screen every five minutes. Did those who wrote the above critiques not notice it. It was not mentioned and it was the most disturbing thing. I felt like I should have walked up to the box office and asked for a refund. How could a producer send out a film with a mic dangling above the actors head throughout the movie? There must have been something that could have been done to eliminate this problem. This was unacceptable. Do some producers have such little respect for people who pay their hard earned money to see movies or do they feel audiences want to see movies so badly that they will accept anything?

Honestly...I hate romantic comedies...theyre all the same with their cheesy sickeningly sweet one-liners and less than half believable hookups...most of the time theyre downright nauseating...This movie is completely different...dont believe the critics on here that say its not funny enough, trust me its packed full of laughs. The most intriguing part of this movie however is how true it is to real life. I was amazed at how accurate and believable the story line. Setting all that aside, the performances also were amazing. I encourage anyone to see this especially if youre looking for a movie thats not only hilarious, but true to life as well...theres also eyecandy for everyone so theres some extra incentive...

The movie at first seems to be not so funny. However, as the plot unfolds, you will discover that there is more to this film than just comedy. The plot is interesting and refreshing. I also believe the film has a lesson to be learned towards the end. Sometimes, you love, learn and move on, despite your feelings for someone. I really admired the selfishness from both characters (Thurman and Greenberg) and the responsibile choice Rafi made at the end of the movie. If you are out for big explosions and sci fi this is not the movie for you. But if you want to see a different and enjoyable story, I highly recommend this film.

This movie is brilliant on so many levels. First and most importantly it is honest. The actors and situations are very realistic and relatable. Secondly, its freakin hilarious!!! The writer does an amazing job with words. It is also nice to see this side of Uma Thurman. I like her in the Kill Bill movies but Im glad she can soften up a little too. The characters in this movie are so clumsy and awkward and in love and learning and hurting! I could go on forever. Also, this movie isnt what you expect it to be. Its not your usual romantic comedy. Lastly, its incredibly original. Im not sure how you all feel about movies, but I am so tired of remakes, movies that are all the same and predictable. This movie is anything but! If you want some refreshingly new entertainment, go see this movie!!

Ok. My friends and I went to see this movie and we were all extremely disappointed. It was terrible. The only reason we didnt walk out was because we each spent 9.50 on the movie, and i paid 3.25 for a box of skittles (way to jack the prices up). We found just about no humor in it and the ending was not clarified enough at all. Plus, the promiscuous sex scenes were pointless. They decided to add more dramatic little problems that didnt aid the movie in any possible way. I would not reccomend this film to anyway

This movie was fun. A wee wee bit true to life but enough romance and disfunction to keep the audience entertained. Mike

This one wont make the most helpful list, but oh well. I though this was a delightful movie for the first hour and thirty minutes. I laughed out loud on several occasions and found myself hiding my face at the characters embarassment (but maybe its just me that does that). It was a good movie, I would have reccommended it... but the ending, oh the ending. Far too many movies these days end up on my bad list because they forget that the ending is the overall feeling that the movie-going partons leave with, and theyve been leaving me with a bitter taste in my mouth. Some might call it realism, but I think its just crap. My final suggestion Watch the first hour and thirty minutes or so, leave the theatre, and make up your own ending. Trust me, even if it envolves flying monkeys itll be much better than what I had to endure.

Prime was billed as an adult comedy but it was actually a dark tragedy. Which made me leave the theater angry. The film was full of fine performances. Brian Greenberg did a very creditable job in his role as a young man involved with an older woman. Merryl Streep also gave a fine performance although her part was craft and displayed her years of experience as an actress rather then from the soul. Ulma Thurman was both luminous and illuminating as a woman who was regrouping after a failed marriage. She is working her way through the morass of her life with her therapist when she meets the wrong man at the wrong time. The film was finally crafted and the cinematography mananges to capture the romance of New York. I left the film feeling disquieted and unsettled and it took me most of a sleepless night to figure out why. The audience laughed at the right places but some of the places it laughed felt sordid to me. It made me feel ashamed and ashamed of the audience. I felt like the film gave people permission to go on being close minded and narrow and it was ok to accept and even enforce that position. There is a transcendant scene which occurs a year after the affair is ended. The ex couple bumps into each other across a crowded room and Greenbergs character is vicerally affected by seeing this woman he loved so intensely. The look Ulma Thurmonds character gives him is a very rare moment in cinema. In it is recognition and thankfullness and radiance and reassurance we were right to let each other go but I wish you such joy . No words were exchanged... just a look that managed to say it all.

Probably one of the worst movies i have ever seen in my life plotwise. I honostly dont think the acting was very bad at all, it was actually pretty good. The plot however, was just terrible, they broke up and got back together a few times and the end was one of the worst endings i have ever seen. Had its funny moments and i think that is the only thing that kept the movie interesting.

Prime is an excellent movie full of romance, laughs, and thoughtful situations. If you love movie lines bring a note pad. This movie is full of quotable lines. Meryl and Uma are exceptional actresses. A couple of the funniest parts of the movie are silent scenes with only body and facial expressions that are memorable. The movie stays viewable by all adults because the lustful parts are artfully hinted at without embarrassing the more conservative viewer. A number of situations, including the ending, are glossed over. Some may see this as bad but those with imagination and the desire to have deep conversations after the movie will appreciate them. Therefore dont be put off by those who didnt like the ending. It is very real and will spark great discussion. By all means see this movie. If you like situational comedy great, you wont be disappointed. If you like a thought provoking story line with some great comedy you are in for a treat.

Do you every wonder what it would be like for the best sex of your life to come alive to your own mother and grafically described. That is what this is all about. Its about life, and the little things that we are told we are not suppose to enjoy. It shows the truth about realtionships and what really needs to be savored. Any one who did not get the laugh factor, did not get the movie. It is truley something to talk about. Uma and Maril( however that is spelled) makes for a great couple and wise charaters in the end, on both their parts. Its a really cool and very funny movie, and trust me, you want to take you Mom to this one. She would really enjoy it
