The story was actually very similar to Body of Evidence, with Willem Dafoe and Madonna, but without all the sex scenes. Whether or not thats a good thing depends on whos watching, I guess.. I mean, Edward Norton, he just stole this movie away from Richard Gere..and I think Gere done a great job, but Edward...the talent that he showed in this movie and how he created his character...I mean wow! Whoever has not seen this movie, you should really see it..if you like to be confused and like a twisted storyline, then this is the movie for you...and at the end...your just sittin there flabbergasted at what you just saw!! This was a film in which you thought you had it figured out all along, and then Norton drops a line that throws everything you thought out the window. Norton's performance was wonderful! This movie seems typical in the beginning but soon takes you through several unexpected turns which draw you closer and closer into the plot. The very end of the movie is a suprise and few people would see it coming. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes unpredictability. It is not really gory, except for the murder of the arch-bishop - it's more psychologically thrilling. If you are an attorney or like watching movies about law, this is an interesting movie to watch! Now, here comes the bad. Everything else to say the least. Norton's performance is the only reason the movie got recognized. The way the movie went on was bad, but it was Norton that keep the ending a memorable movie. To see it again, and forget about Norton's performance, you would be off not seeing it at all.
