I think that this movie is the ultimate girly chick flick. Richard Gere and Julia Roberts are great together onscreen. I could honestly watch this movie everyday. Pretty Woman wants us all to belive that we should run out and fall in love with a hooker and our lives will be great. Just forget about that venereal that you get from her. Richard Gere wouldn't have been laughing if Roberts would have given him a good case of Herpes. There should have been a scene where Gere has to be bailed out of jail for hiring a prostitute. This would have made the movie a little more believeable, and a lot more fun to watch. Gere wouldn't have survived very well in the holding cell with the other prisoners. The movie tries to make the whole thing about him hiring her as a prostitute seem rather common. Like everybody does it. It gives the message that we should all lack values and morals; it's is o.k. to be like that.<br><br> The characters were very limited in their range. Not one of the actors drew me into the movie and made me feel that the action was real. Roberts played the part of a young attractive hoe. Wow, what a stretch for her talents. Basically she played herself. Gere has proven over and over that his acting ability is extremely limited. He plays the same part over and over.<br><br> Roberts has since developed some very good acting skills. I am not a fan of her work, but I must admit she is a good actress at this point.<br><br> Don't waste your time on trash like this movie. A better name for the movie would have been Skanky Woman. <br> Was this review helpful? Sign In 3 out of 4 users found this helpful Pretty WomanPosted: 8/31/2003A review of Pretty Woman by Imgayhawaiianman2 I just plain like the movie, "Pretty Woman."<br>I cannot remember the first time I saw it, but I'm sure I wasn't going to like it based on it's title. However, from beginning to end the movie keeps me entertained, whether it's watching the shrewdness of the billion dollar strategy go down, watching a street corner girl learning how only 'credit cards get respect' on Rodeo Drive, to seemingly have to helplessly stand by and watch Stucky, as well as the other socialites prod and poke at Vivian Ward. I think this is one of Richard Gere's and Julia Robert's finest films and I don't think I would be the only one raising my hand if there were a vote. This is a "classic" romantic comedy, and I 'need' to watch this "feel-good" collector's video probably, oh, two to three times a year. Thanks to the cast, production people and the like, I own a wonderful and funny movie. The only failing I find in the movie is toward the very end when we hear the words off screen, "What's your dream. . .??" Sadly, I know the movie's over, but happy I saw it, and will again.
