First the daughters cuts on her face.....Were they trying to suggest that Linda hurt her? If so, why would she do that? Was she drugged?
Second, they never mentioned the crazy institution ever again....they never showed if they released her or if she escaped.
Third, towards the end when Linda is following Jim on the highway towards the 220 mile-point....after he turns around when Linda told him to....why does he sit in his car in the middle of the highway? DUH!!! Of course a car or truck is going to come a full speed and hit you! That part REALLY annoyed me....because it was just so STUPID!!!
The ending left me depressed....I just kept on saying Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 8/23/2007A review of Premonition by Anonymous Hey ....first off....the guy with the potty mouth has no business judging anything! If you don't want the ending ruined then don't go out looking for others reactions BEFORE you watch it....too much time? This movie was entertaining because it kept me involved and on the edge of my seat...I agree - she killed him! Not intentionally of course but i was hoping to see that others saw the inconsistencies with the girls cut face on Tuesday but nothing when she told them their Dad died. -HOLE- Calm down it's just a movie! It keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
I thought the plot was very intelligent. Twists and surprises are what make an exciting movie. My friend and I had a blast watching this movie when we rented it last night. We were confused at first, but once you get to a certain point in the movie it makes sense.
The ending was depressing. It's kind of expected, though. You can't change the future. Fate is set. When it's your time, it's your time. The premonition happened because that was fate. Everything that Linda did was destined to happen. Linda didn't cause her husband's death. Fate destined it. Everything happens for a reason. Maybe God had another plan for Jim and for Linda and her family. Obviously he did since Linda was pregnant at the end of the movie. Fate made the premonition so Linda would have the intimate night with Jim when she tells him about her dream. Jim tripled his life insurance because of it and so Linda was able to support her current children and future child (that came from the intimate night) after he dies. The ending was tragic and I cried, but the movie wouldn't have made sense if she had been able to save him.
There was a major mistake in the plot, though. If Bridgette gets cut on Tuesday, why on Thursday (the first day of the mixed up Premonition week) are the cuts not on her face and the cuts are there on Saturday (funeral day)? And why on Saturday (the day that Linda is committed) does the grandma ask why Bridgette had cuts on her face? Wouldn't she have noticed earlier and asked??
Another mistake in the plot was that on Saturday Linda was committed. Why does it never come up again? Mistake.
All in all, the movie was fantastic. Sandra Bullock was AMAZING. She is a truly gifted actress. Her emotions were so real and so the audience can experience pain and devestation with her. I really loved this movie. I would recommend it to people looking for a good drama and thriller. Was this review helpful? This is amoung the top 5 worst movies ever. Not only is it sad and depressing, but it does not even make sense. For example, she's put in a mental institution and no mention of that is ever made again. How did she get out? What the heck? Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 7/24/2007A review of Premonition by tmerz I liked the movie quite a bit - full of suspense and it kept me awake (as few movies do). I was REALLY dissapointed in the ending - I wanted to see some justice for all that Sandra's character went through, but didn't get during the film. I would recommend this as a good movie, but LOWER your expectations of a happy ending, because it's not gonna happen. Was this review helpful? Not only were her premonitions useless, the ending does nothing to compensate for the horrific events. If you like even somewhat upbeat movies, don't waste your time watching this. The only redeeming feature of the DVD is the gag reel which brings some humor to offset an otherwise depressing film. Pass the Lithium, please. Was this review helpful? Sandra Bullock was fantastic, but the story itself, could have developed into something more interesting. I feel that the middle meat of the movie just seemed too much like groundhog day. The ending was fine--there was no other way it could have ended properly with the direction the film took. I just wasnt thrilled about it. From the beginning to the middle, I was looking forward to something special--- but as the movie progressed, it didnt happen. Was this review helpful? Im all about happy endings. However, this movie was excellent. The end was so unexpected it. I kept trying to predict the next scene, that didnt work. This movie kept me on my toes. But lost me at the end, dumb what was he thinking. Sandra did another great job, but she had to know the ending was bad. Was this review helpful? Otherwise catch the early show! Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 4/2/2007A review of Premonition by ShortSandy_23 Sandra Bullock performed awesome in a terrible movie!! I think it was a psycotic version of Groundhog Day. We left the theater thinking It didnt make sense and you cant even try to make any sense out of it! I wish we would have watched Reign Over Me instead!! Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 3/29/2007A review of Premonition by Ginger186 The acting was powerful and the movie does keep you on the edge of your seat. It is very suspenseful and gut wrenching at times. However, the ending just didnt seem to tie in properly with the movie. Word of warning - you may leave the theatre puzzled and yearning for closure. Throughout the movie, I found myself thinking that all these things were happening for a reason - and that each turn of events would lead Sandra Bullocks character closer to altering the future. But in the end I wondered what the purpose of the premonition was? With a better ending - this would have been a five star movie!! In all, I would recommend the movie - simply because the actors did such a tremendous job and (other than the last 10 minutes) the movie was very well written. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 3/28/2007A review of Premonition by Anonymous Even though I was upset with the ending, it really didnt end the way I thought it would - I still really liked it. It had a lot of twists and turns I didnt expect, some that I did, and even a moment or two of humor. I love Sandra Bullock and Julian McMahon is wonderful, not to mention sexy!! The movie really made me think and I recommend it. Dont listen to the critics - they never like anything anyway! Was this review helpful? Sign In | ||
