I found Vin Diesel to be quite amusing in this film, though its only two parts that make me laugh and its not what he says it how he does it. I got the DVD so I try to always watch it when I can on my spare time. The whole light and dark thingy is kool especially with those creatures lingering, so anybody think these blind beasts can go agianst the Aliens. Anyway, Radha Mitchell is sexy idc what other ppl think. Was this review helpful? When people start dying the go to Rittick the character played by Diesel.<br>Unfortunatly for them Rittick was not their killer.<br>The aliens only come out at night. Then there is a total planet indefinate eclipse. Any movie with Vin is in is going to be hot ths movie has action horror comedy and Diesel is a category all hisown! Additionally this film is tightly directed, well produced (espechially considering a small budget) and overflows with beleiveable acting in an unbelievable set of circumstances. Although Vin Diesel may look great in this film and fit the character he protrays well, it is his "cool under fire/man of few words/cowboy" style approach among a very capable cast of weaker on-screen characters that makes him a joy to watch and glues the rest of the film together. Just try not to grin with satisfaction when he single handedly takes on and destroys one of the creatures with his bare hands. This is a film worth paying to see on the big screen for at least your first viewing. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 1 users found this helpful the scariest sci fi horror moviePosted: 2/4/2004A review of Pitch Black by Jamesbr311 i seen pitch black at the imax theater in san antonio texas and it was really really scary becuase you have a scene where the bug creatures come down ouutta the night sky atacking the group and in that scen in the imax theater you have the screen that starts infront of you and goes all the up above you and the bug scene almost made me pee my pants it was so scary but it was an awsome scary sci fi movie i give it 5 <br>stars way way up <br>and the prequel the chronicles of ridick explians about what rididck was sentenced for before the pitch black movie and it also shows how redick got his eyes shined like he has in pitch black and it explains why the marshell is always on ridicks case all the time in pitch black the prequle explainse everything about the villain from pitch black ridick <br>ill have to give the prequell 6 stars way way way up Was this review helpful? I first saw it, and went "wow". Vin Diesel plays Riddick so very well, and at first, I was petrified, because it was very un-Diesel. But as I continued to watch the movie, I was reminded why he's one of my fave actors: so versatile, and so good at the characters. When he's in the skif with Fry, and talking to her, and moving back and forth behind her, right next to her ears, I was shivering. As a sci-fi movie, this is different than, say, Star Wars or something. But this really got me kinda hooked on the sci-fi thing. I'm not a huge sci-fi fan, but this led me into X-Men (an obsession now, btw), and into watching the Sci-Fi channel for a week straight (well, I was watching for the previews FOR PB, but still...). So I have to say that this is definitely a different movie. My 2nd favorite Diesel movie, because he makes Riddick seem so very dangerous, yet so damn intriguing. I especially am fascinated by the way he moves; like a panther. Absolutely amazing. But I wouldn't let the kids watch this one. At first I couldn't watch it too many times in a short span, but now I could watch it like 2 times in 2 days. I'm entranced by this movie. Was this review helpful? Vin Diesel is an excellent actor and has a fantastic voice. Not to be overlooked are the performances given by the other two male lead characters played by Cole Hauser and Keith David. The combination of Vin, Cole and Keith talking in one movie is a real treat for those of us who like voices. The story line is interesting and the plot twists enough to keep you watching. Keep in mind it is a science fiction thriller with some pretty realistic and gory death sceens, rated R for a reason - not for everyone. On the DVD there is a feature that allows you to watch the movie with Vin, Cole and the director telling you what they liked about a sceen, how hard it was to shoot and other little details that make the movie so much more fun to watch again and again. The movie offers lots of eye candy for men too, the ";captian"; is very nice looking and there is a sexual tension between her and both Vin Diesel and Cole Hauser's characters. I highly recommend this movie to science fiction fans and as a true showcase of the talents of Vin Diesel, Cole Hauser, Keith David and Rhada Mitchell. Was this review helpful? Sign In | ||
