Just to say how much you love and are going to marry him. You are the reason why the average user rating is so low. Now that I have said that, I loved this movie. I have been a peter pan fan since I was a toddler, I've seen the musical done live as well as watched the cartoon movie about eight billion times. This version is by far my favorite; great plot, great acting and the cinimatography is very nice too. My actual rating is four and a half stars due to the Was this review helpful? It's one of those films that you just can't stop watching. P.J. Hogan has brought back a very old and classic story, he has brought an unimaginable adventure to life. The cast was amazing. Jeremy Sumpters did a wonderful job as Peter Pan, beautiful Rachel Hurd-Wood did a splendid job as Wendy, and Jason Isaacs was brilliant as Captian James Hook. The special effects were phenominal. Jeremy Sumpter captured Peter Pan's carefree character and I loved his childish laugh! The special effects and utter beauty of the film captured me and lighted my imagination on fire. With a new exciting young cast, it surpassed my expectations.<br><br>I will be looking for these actors (Jeremy Sumpeter, Jason Isaacs) in further movies. I read the book, and I found it quite amusing... in a good sense. The idea of the Lost Boys and their innocence was so sweet, and the idea of never growing up... it kept me interested. Though I did enjoy the movie, there were some bits that I didn't. It seemed to me that the film exaggerated the love between Peter and Wendy, and almost made the film seem a bit...sexual. Otherwise, the scenes, the acting, and especially, the sets were amazing. Definitely a classic in my movie shelves. I recommend it to all! Was this review helpful? Jason isaccs and jeremy sumpter were great as peter and hook. through out the movie u could just feel the tention and hate rising between them,and racheal provided just the right amount of feminimity. racheal will be a great actress if she keeps going. yet as the movie went on there were some seens that could have been redone (maybe one more take guys)i think the "i do believe i faeries seen needs something more though i cant put my finger on it. even though when i took my best friend to see it wen we came out the first thing that came out of her mouth was "whens the next showing". this movie is one ill be seeing again and again and again. till the its so old that its cracked and broken.<br>P.S. <br> this aint no lovey dovey disney movie wit sissy pirates. Sign In 3 out of 3 users found this helpful All children grow up.........exept one.Posted: 8/9/2004A review of Peter Pan by Gillbabysweetascandy1 The classic edition of J.M.Barrie's tale,Peter Pan.Wendy Darling(Rachel Hurd-Wood) is told to grow up my her parents(Olivia Williams and Jason Isaacs) and her wacky Aunt Millicent(Lynn Redgrave),but that night,a strange young boy, Peter Pan(Jeremy Stumpter)who never grows up,and his fairy Tinkerbell(Ludivine Sagnier) whisks her and her brothers John(Harry Newell) and Micheal(Freddie Popplewell)away to Neverland,waited for by evil Captain Hook(Jason Isaacs)and his crew.Captain Hook wants to badly hurt Peter,so he captures Wendy and Peter gets cross when Wendy,the lost boys and the brothers decide to go home.He says he'll never feel,but he falls for Wendy and comes to save her at the pirate ship.Hook and his crew surrender and everyone stays in London,exept Peter.A wonderful version of PeterPan and brill perfromaces from Stumpter, Isaacs,Wood and Sagnier!I'd recomenned this film to anyone! My friend saw this movie in Spainish and she said it made more sense that way(she was on a trip to mexico and she doesn't speak a lot of spainish). I agreed even though I didn't see it in a foreign language. Some parts of this movie were incredibly stupid. There was some running theme about a "hidden kiss" in Wendy that I did not follow. This movie make look cute and fun but don't waste your money. Stick with the good ol' cartoon version, for your sanity's sake. Was this review helpful? Jeremy Sumpter was the perfect actor for the part of Peter Pan. He is such a great actor, along with his co-stars. The only part that seemed kind of "child-like" was when they were all saying "I do believe in fairies, I do, I do." That's the only part that I didn't care for. If anyone has ever thought they knew the story of "The Pan" needs to see this movie. The chemistry in this cast of charaters is outstanding.
